Odin's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter) Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1) Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2) Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy So, even though I'm doing No Variation November, two things changed today. The first was the blade, which needed to be replaced after a tour of duty of 5 days and 13 passes. The second was directly related to the first; I almost always have gotten weepers or irritation when I've tried to do 3 passes on a brand new blade, regardless of brand, so I stopped at 2 rather than taking the second XTG pass I will generally be doing every other shave. DFS results without any redness or irritation counts as a win.

Slim Adjustable set to 9 Sputnik Blade Le Pere Lucien 3 passes Today I bowl lathered, something I haven't done in a few months. While the lather was slightly better than that which I can produce by face lathering, it just seemed like a lot of effort for the minor gain realized. All in all, a very nice and smooth shave.

4Nov15 I've been traveling again (at the in-laws). Been skipping shaves but shaved today. I found this AVON chess piece, the Queen, full of Tai Winds aftershave. Very close to old spice I believe.
Let's start with the 1941 Ranger Tech. Possibly one of the best shaves I've ever had, I'll need a few more to make it official. Bronson Distinguished Goat, Guinness and Goat milk, notes of creamy oatmeal, orange peel, butterscotch, almond and vanilla. Very easy to lather, slick, plenty of cushion. Bonus: it's local! Made in San Jose!! Finished off my shave with NeverMoreBodyCo Guinness! Great shave!!

Wm. Neumann makes some wonderful shaving soaps and after shave products. the only balm that I had but traded away for an 8oz tub of Bay Rum with Mint was the Absolute Zero Balm. Since I already had the Absolute Zero in the splash did not need both. As for the Aftershaves and Balms, for me and again everyone has their own viewpoints, both of these are the best in post shave feel that I have tried. Neither of them feel sticky on the face and no smooth calming effect. Aroma on the splashes last quite some time and everyone at the office believes they are colognes. The 1907 is my favorite scent. Hard to describe but give it a go: a cologne type scent that you notice sandalwood, vanilla, a touch of spice, cardamom and a light woodsy scent. Think of a mellow bay rum with touch of sweetness to it along with a light woodsy scent. Yah I know not easy to picture in your mind but a very good scent. 1907 is another great scent and I know others prefer 1907 over 1911 but you cant go wrong with either one. Water ratio is easy for me to hit with these soaps but others have to play around with it. You get rich thick lather, that is really slick and for me does not dry out. Post shave feel is excellent leaving your face nice and smooth then pair it with the AS and a killer one two punch. Their products are a little on the expensive side but for me, the cost per shave ratio is low and as I noted above, for me they make the best smelling and best post shave feeling after that I have tried to date. I own four of their soaps and two of the AS products.
