  2. I guess my answer would be it depends on if it is honed properly. Glen could better answer your question. One thing I did find out though is that I can use both sides of the blade and get a nice shave

  3. Hey guys, sorry for not posting in a while. With nearly 180 consecutive days of SR shaving, I got too comfortable and complacent about my SR use. I tried to cut corners and shave too fast and clumsily. Needless to say, I did some bloodletting. Now I have a set of new, open and healing wounds to care for. So until healed I am back to using the Mühle R89 DE. This is a post for new and experienced SR shavers alike. Remember, you are using a ridiculously sharp knife blade. Complacency is a dangerous thing.
I'm not seriously injured, but I may have a new scar or two.
  4. Hindsight 20/20. Let it heal and then come back to the dark side.:duel:

  18. I'd like to think I could, at least off my stones but there are so many variables with honing I wouldn't bet I could with someone else doing the honing. They do have a different feel to them though.

  19. I can a difference in the feel from a coticule versus Japanese natural stone versus a synthetic hone. Coticule and JNAT leave a smoother feeling edge.
