Just the head. I let my beard start growing about the same time I started shaving my head. Trying to see what the beard will do so I'm only shaving my head.

Thanks for making a newbie feel welcome. My confidence is growing with every shave. So much so I just recently purchased a 1904 with a sample pack put together on tryablade.com. I'm excited to see the difference in the 1904's shave.
I think you'll like it. I've never used the razor from Sally's but the 1904 is a high quality well made razor that will last a lifetime.
Just giving you guys an update. My sample pack of blades arrived last night. I popped in a 7'Oclock and did two passes WTG. I'm satisfied with the results for my first use. Still not brave enough to go against yet! My 1904 and my headblade cream and scrub arrive Thursday. Should be a good evening!
Glad you are having success! If you want to try any other razors, I recommend you consider an adjustable.

Thanks for the pic Joe nice order. The headblade head shed is an awesome face scrub, smells kinda chocolaty and the shave cream is slick and the menthol is a bonus great razor. Enjoy!
So I took the 1904 for it's initial spin and I love it! I started off with a hot shower and the head scrub. I love the exfoliating scrub! Next I lathered up with the head slick at the sink. I was not impressed with the lather. I couldn't even get a full lather over my entire head. I will use the rest of the bottle, but I won't be re-ordering! I did love the sample lotions head blade provided with my order. I used the matte finish and like the shine. I'm interested to see what the difference in shine will be. Overall it was a good shave only held back by the under performing shave cream. I do love the Merkur! My noobie technique is coming along nicely. I'll be ready for ATG as soon as I find a good shave cream! I may just stick with my aloe vera gel and focus on technique now that I have the Merkur!
