Have a couple this week this got away...either because of the price going too high..or me not paying attention enough.... Did you have something that....'got away'? This gorgeous Madden Deluxe... sold for about $30 more than I was willing to pay A really interesting vintage, NOS Pure badger brush in horn handle. This one still hurts...bought it...but turned out the head was not level so no-go Really interesting tilt-head DE razor. I was too cheap
I was hoping these Benwell brushes were going to ride under the radar but no dice. I snuck in an earlier bid on two of them hoping I might sneak a win.....nope.
Any concerns about a horn handle when it gets wet? I have a horn bowl that smells like crap when it gets wet to the point of not wanting to use it. Lost out on 2 brush bundles last night because I was too engrossed in the Iowa vs Minnesota game. Oh well the Hawks are still undefeated!
Last month, a nice plisson brush I missed by half a second. Was working and couldn't pay enough attention, only time I got really infuriated and I would have taken it at 15.00 over winning bid. Stayed off the bay for a week after that one.
Many straight razors (some 10o-150+years old) have handles (scales) made of horn and have lasted, despite being used in a wet environment. As with any wet-shaving item, proper care will ensure a lasting performance.
