  1. You know what? I might actually try that on the last week of NOVember. What can possibly go wrong?

  2. Oh yeah...that too! Nearly destroying your dominant hand optional and discouraged.

  3. I am giving up after fifteen. The current blade still works, but it's definitely changed from day one!
  4. I really did that for the month of March 2015. It turned out really well!

  5. Ah, your need to use the non-dom hand was not by choice!

  6. I switch hands on a DE or SE already, I shave right hand only on straights and shavettes. Dim room maybe. I used to be able to straight shave in the dark or blindfolded maybe I should get back to that level of comfort.

  8. I still wish I had picked something more challenging. This superspeed is too easy of a ride.

    Pinaud Clubman Original

The travel box arrived yesterday so I decided to give the Chiseled Face Tradewinds and the Gem Junior a try.

Scooped an almond size portion from the soap container and put it in my scuttle. I loaded the brush and went from there.
Face lather and 2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG. I used the Super Speed for the right side of my cheek and the Gem Junior everywhere else and from that point on. Good reduction. Pass 2: ATG. Afterwards, did a small amount of touch where I could easily feel stubble. This gave me a near DFS. A cold water rinse followed by a moderate amount of touch up. I was starting to feel some irritation on my neck, so I stopped even though I could still tell there were some hints of stubble remaining. The Pinaud Clubman stung more than it ever has, but its soothing properties took over quickly.

A near BBS from the Gem Junior. The angle seems pretty easy to achieve, except when my ear was in the way. The Chiseled Face Tradewinds fragrance was pleasant, but much more subtle when lathered than in the container. It held up well on my face and seemed to give good protection. I like that it rinsed off quickly. But when I went to make my second pass, the brush was almost empty. I went back to the glob that was still in the scuttle and loaded the brush again and did more face lathering adding water as I went. This time the soap was good for the second pass and the touch ups. But the soap seemed thinner during the touch ups, and was not as protective as Proraso. It may be that I need to spend more time getting the brush properly loaded or use more water so the lather doesn't thin out.

    Have a wonderful Lord's Day.

A very nice near BBS 2 pass plus touch up shave this morning. I decided to ATG for both passes. This is not something I would do with any other razor/blade combo. The TSD Yin Yang soap provided a wonderful slick lather with a very pleasant scent. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange and I am off to visit my Mom today. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

  11. That was the funniest post I had ever read. Poor Troy, at least he got a CT out of it. I tried to explain it to SWMBO, but she didn't find it as funny as I did. The 30 Day Threads at that point had less participants and significantly less shenanigans then now. They were easier to keep up with, but nowhere near as fun as now.

    And get off my lawn!

  12. Sorry friend. Ribs are one of those injuries you are reminded of every time you breathe in/out, move or cough. I pray you find relief soon. In the meantime keep taking those Percocet's.
  13. Change up. No reason to go 15 more shaves unhappy.

  15. This is why I couldn't do a no variation November. I like changing things up
  16. Agreed. No sense in being miserable, most of us have suffered enough with shaving for many many years. Change it up! No one will judge you. At least not me. ;)
