Very happy to be using my grandfathers brush that I restored. I always think of him when I'm mix lather. It's a good knot also. It may have been you that posted the web site in Spain where I purchased the Myrsol. Thanks.
SHAVE OF THE DAY THURSDAY PREP: OCCAMS CRUSHED LIME PRE SHAVE SOAP RAZOR: MAGGARD MR18C BLADE: TREET KING STAINLESS (1ST SHAVE) BRUSH: EVERREADY 600 SOAP: REEF POINT ADMIRALITY AFTERSHAVE: MASTERS BAY RUM (STRONGLY MENTHOLATED) BALM: REEF POINT ADMIRALITY This was the 1st time using the King blade, it seemed to be a smooth blade, but my face was bright red afterwards so I'm not sure what caused it. The RP soap whipped up a nice lather as always, the Admiralty scent is a strong orange citrus that is quite refreshing. I added a lot of menthol crystals to the Masters bay rum so it was like sticking my face in the freezer. The RP balm is one of my favorite balms and soothed the skin nicely. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great day!
I do have pretty coarse whiskers. Six just works best for me because I seem to pay more attention to the "no pressure" mantra.
lol thanks. It was very bad today. Looked like a tomato. It seems to be cooling down which is a good thing.
Took out the Schick D type again today. I liked it that much the first time so why not two days in a row? T&H Ultimate Comfort PSO Castle Forbes Lavender Cream Savile Row 3824 Schick D Schick Plus Platinum (2) Osma Alum Block T&H Classic After Shave Balm Happy shaving - Karl

Friday morning will feature these goodies: Stirling Pre-Shave Soap Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Astra day 5 Brutalt Bra SS Krampert's Bay Rum AS No menthol on tap because it's going to be rather chilly and besides, I want to start enjoying other soaps and creams which I've neglected for some time. The Brutalt Bra lathers so nicely, has a great (but mild) scent with plenty of skincare. The Krampert's Bay Rum is one hell of a delightful aftershave. The scent actually lingers for a while and does it ever feel fabulous! A wonderful weekend to all in advance!
Friday's Happy Birthday, Mom. She would have been 89 years old, but lost to cancer in 2005. Dove Men Face Wash Tabac Shaving Soap Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip Gillette Super Adjustable Astra Super Platinum CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva AS The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gillette Super Adjustable razor and an Astra Super Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Twentieth shave of No Variation NoVember. Two-thirds through.
only at first, then it claims a fern smell. I'm not sure I detected fern, but it was sweet, clean and nice.

NOVember - NO Variation November 19 Razor - Feather SS AC Pain Stick Blade - (1) Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea I'm beginning to feel like I'm boring. What, me, boring? Yep, me. Why? Because of the effect doing a 30 day Rule has on technique with a razor, that's why. Oh, I know we have called it No Variation November.....but it's really a 30 day Rule. Nothing wrong with that, though, and this month has become another lesson in why the Rule is so important for success! It's also a fancier way of saying "practice makes perfect". Yet another great lather from BoSFat and a DFS two pass with some touch ups from the Feather and a new Pro blade. The only challenge was the new blade. That first day the sharpness seems to creep up on me a bit. I had one minor nick on the right cheek but it didn't really bleed. More of a weeper really. So, all's well in the land of the BOPS! At least on this end. And on we go to Friday!
Planned Friday SOTD Another day planned with the NoVember kit. I'm planning Floid Blue post shave (aftershave, edt)
