Now why would I pour good dew down a tree? But then again, why poor it in my lap. I suppose it could happen. I tell you what, I will do my best not to pour dew on a yew.
I've had a great couple of days. Found a couple inexpensive vintage razors in the wild, and was gifted a W&B straight by my aunt. I'm enjoying my current work project. Stretching both my brain & body. Best of all, since being banned from another shave forum I've joined several others. This one right here is populated by the most down to earth crew I've yet encountered. Thanks Y'all for being yourselves!
It's funny you saying you're looking for down to earth people while sporting that particular avatar. Welcome!
I'm pretty sure you're the first and only member here to have been banned by another forum...We band of misfit warriors welcome you with open arms.
Went shopping for christmas presents for my son and had to walk past the shave section without stopping to look! It hurt. It really hurt but I managed to survive.
Waiting to see @macaronus post this in the "what are you waiting for"-thread $17 w/ free international shipping
Ask, and you shall receive! Clauss from a consignment antique store. I'm not the only person that shops him. Just the first since his stall renter add merchandise. A Gilette, I assume a Slim since it's not like my FB. I'll get curious and research it soon. The Flea Market stall owner had half a dozen, all for $12/each. Then my aunt passed me a Wade & Butcher wedge in worm eaten scales. I'm assisting in her kitchen remodel and will barter my time for a fair value. I've a Morley and a Torrey out of their scales, and the W&B is now, too. For sure the Clauss needs better than the yellow plastic. Found my brass rod, but need to order washers. I'm gonna learn peening! I do feel fortunate that I've picked up some fine examples of desirable vintage steel.
Came to Halifax, Nova Scotia today. I have a workshop to attend tomorrow. My wife and I spent the afternoon Christmas Shopping. Now we're back at the hotel. Full day ahead , I'm happy there's no test at the end!
My day's been good. Anxious to pick up my winter coat tomorrow(I had it dry-cleaned and a new zipper was badly needed). More shuffling back and forth(commuting??)to the library to use their computer, as mine is going way downhill. Almost ready to throw out my Rise shaving cream, but I have 11 to go, so no worries there.
