Ha-ha, I thought about it long an hard, and decided I couldn't let it slip away even if @TheFiveO said it was only rough shave ready. I've thought about getting one, but since a have a bunch of razors, I want to try out more soaps, and the wife still thinks this is a silly hobby, it's likely to be at least a few months before I take the plunge. :happy005:

Staying with injectors this month I moved on to the type l with the twin blade. Great shave but probably no better than a single blade. I'm enjoying the injectors and haven't seen a DE all month! image.jpeg

I think I'll hit both sides of the pasted board a few laps and give it a try as well. I've never used a frameback or its faux cousin. I'll need to get the board out to work on both my rolls blades and touch up my straight for next month. They all shave but they should shave better after I get done.

Ivan and I have been in conference most of the day today. Can't say his creative juices are at their peak right now. More vodka may be the answer. I'm pretty sure how I'll be starting out December, at least the setup, but it's a one-off type of thing with a unique but not necessarily dangerous (I think) razor involved. After that the basic idea is forming and a few names are dropping in. "Cloud". "MEM", "Souplex". Those are in the discussion with a few more. I really want to give everyone here a good December as a gift from me for the holidays......in the form of some questionable judgement or at least interesting combo shaves. Besides, I still have plenty of blades that need tried. Also, likely by the end of the month, a special Russian tribute to the season. Still waiting on everything to come together on that one. So lots of moving pieces at the moment. I think you'll have plenty of opportunities to pop that popcorn.

Oh, and a special anniversary shave on December 20th. My one year mark here at TSD. More on that later. Ivan just brought more vodka so our intelligence level should soon be hitting a workable level!

There is a chance the reason the blade didn't go smoothly is that the edge was rolled it was stropped. SRs are normally very smooth and give a great reduction on the first pass.

Unless you find someone to let your borrow a razor and strop.

    Just sayin...

Opps. Another reason to look before you leap. At least I didn't cut myself. I hope DDuckyMark can get a better edge and enjoys his shave.

Thanks Adam, that would be great. I may want to take you up on that offer sometime later next year when the stars align. It would better to borrow than buy since I understand there is a definite up front cost involved. I don't think my wife is too concerned about the cost at this point since most of the purchases so far have been small. I just get the rolling eyes when I get something in the mail because she thinks I have enough already. :D

Today is the first day with DR Harris Arlington. I love the scent but it has been an inconsistent performer for me. Today's lather started out a bit bubbly but I kept working the puck like it was 2 month late on paying me back. I also kept adding water and finally got a wet yogurt like lather.

I have to shave again tonight for a rendezvous so I only did three passes with a Shick adjustable injector wide open. I was surprised in the shave felt rougher than expected and a weeper. The alum test was better than expected, without an ATG pass there is not hope for BBS, the shave was mid range DFS or less.

Comrade, we do more than just PIF. We locate shining examples of Soviet engineering, and get this crazy American @NCoxSTL the implements needed to hurt himself. Sometimes it involves trips including several continents and a boat ride, but we will do what is needed.

Yuri asked Ivan yesterday, "When will it be enough that he says, STOP?" We don't know, so we keep going.

So when are you getting the ax shave ready? Swedish ax heads have good steel.

Who could ask for a more loyal and valuable group of comrades eh? How many people enable this kind of glorious misery? I tell you, my eyes teared up when I read that out of appreciation for such concern. No, seriously, it had nothing to do with the onions on my burger....all emotional tears.

As for Yuri and Ivan they know when it will be enough that I will say STOP! NEVER comrades!! There is too much bad gear and potentially bad gear out there waiting to be put through the three T test! The honor of the cartel demands that no razor or blade be left unturned! And yes, @Bama Samurai - that calls for the FIGHT SONG!

NOWWWWWWWWW you're talking. Some fine Soviet steel there. And one of the more intelligent cartel members as well. He's quiet at meetings, though. Grunts a lot.

Another glorious shave from the Motherland! First pass XTG with my fresh Rapira nearly knocked down all growth, yet it was a little agressive. I dialed back to 4 for my ATG pass, and that fine Russia steel laid waste my 3 day growth. Almost a BBS shave. But as Ivan would have it, I ended up with DFS++ with irritation an A+ and closeness an A. The AS splash didn't even tingle. Another victory for the cartel.
