1. Evidently, according to my wife, I have a square silver Schick repeater in a leather case coming from her family who knows I collect shaving gear. There isn't a cap and the handle has lines on it and it's supposed to be really tarnished which makes me assume it is in the B series (B1 or B3) since it in't gold. Since the B's are either sterling or silver plated, I won't know if is really dirty/tarnished or the silver plating came off until I try cleaning it. In less than a week I will know if I have something good or a collection of available parts to fix someones razor. Anyone know how to tell the difference between the plated model and the sterling one? Fingers crossed.

  2. The one you are referring to is Silver plated with the engraved lines running down it....The Silver Plating is very thick though...High quality...:p

  3. With some elbow grease it should clean up fine. Look at previous posts here nice before and after shots of some B1's
  4. Silver tarnish can be removed using a small bowl lined with aluminum foil, very hot water, and a tablespoon of baking soda. Place the razor in the water and let it sit for a while. The chemical reaction will remove a great deal of the tarnish. (Something to do with aluminum oxide forming faster than silver oxide?) I used this technique in my Single Ring. Not sure what would happen with the "internal mechanism" of a repeater.
  5. I did that on mine. Turned out nice. Good advice.

  12. Yeah, I'm jealous. I was just there for 10 days (LA area) at the end of October. It was tough to leave the endless summer and come back to the cold - 15 Celsius today. Enjoy yourself.

  13. The population grew again today. My C2 arrived and is even nicer than I had thought. It jacked blades through it like a champ. Now I have to stare at it for 5 more days until NoV is over and I can try it.

  15. Yeah, Ive bought fly tying materials from the UK for years. Ive even got a UK address for the times when a seller wont ship abroad. I made friends with a fellow fly tyer way back and he will forward items for me.
  16. That is a nice setup. Good for you.
