I had two things come in yesterday, a type n wth blades for $20 and Staley live blade for $25. I bought the Staley for the head as it was listed as not working. However when I wound it up it vibrates just like it should. Anyway I had heard from one of the enablers here that the head on this razor was really something so I have a handle for it and will give it a test soon.
My mailbox was bursting when I got home today. First up is a vending machine set. Second was a birth quarter set. I need to verify if this is the right case for a 1961. The price was right regardless. I also picked up these three brushes for less than $15.00 total. I hit an antique shop on the way home and picked this up.
I finally bought my first straight razor in the wild. I bought it because I thought it was a beauty. I did no research and bought it spontaneously from a junk shop. I asked about razors and he pulled out four straights. Three beaters and this beauty. He was asking $85.00 and I talked him down to $50.00 for this razor and the metal brush in the previous post. It needs to be honed but I think it is in good shape otherwise. I would appreciate any input from the straight razor guys. Is this a quality razor?
That's a very quality razor. It has some light hone wear but should be a wonderful shaver when honed up. If you have any doubts, Kevin has an Otto Deutsch Hans in his rotation.
Fleamarket score, $2. First time seeing a punktal DE made in Turkey and couldn't pass this greenish slim along with an omega brush in which I have intention of changing the knot into badger hair.
Great score. That slim will clean up nicely. The Omega has a very nice handle. Like the red and clear.
The vintage, Vulfix I.B. 6 arrived this past weekend and really like it.
