Menthol Monday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/new Astra Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill SS Diana Sport Menthol Balm Barrister & Mann Arctique AS Aramis EdT I think I'll need a week or two in Acapulco for my face to thaw out after this shave - there's enough menthol going in to this shave and after to post a frostbite warning!
Monday's Dove Men Face Wash Tabac Shaving Soap Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip Gillette Super Adjustable Astra Super Platinum CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva AS The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gillette Super Adjustable razor and an Astra Super Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... A month with one soap, one brush, one razor, and one blade has come to a successful end. I chose well and had a blast with the Tabac and my new Super Adjustable, and my Jayaruh #27 did not disappoint. Thirtieth and final shave of No Variation NoVember.

I love it. I may try cranking it up a notch or two but not until I'm done messing around with different blades. Speaking of blades, not too impressed by the Treet. Seemed dull and rough -- not a good combination. I do like Arko however. It will take some learning to get the face lather thing right or maybe Arko just doesn't have much volume? The protection seemed awesome though and the smell pairs very nicely with Noxema. All in all, not quite BBS, but pretty darn close.

This menthol assault can really shake some guys up big-time, my friends. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap lathered explosively and so rich with a freeze that could have flattened a polar bear, yet the post-shave feeling is so moisturizing and soothing. Watch out that you don't put on too much of the Diana Sport balm and the Arctique aftershave because they're both ULTRA-POWERFULLY mentholated. A great BBS shave with a new Astra.
Monday: Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter) Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4) Passes: WTG, XTG (9, 10) Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy Last day of No Variation November, so I made sure to get the shave in. The puck is for all intents and purposes done, as I can easily fit its replacement into the same container now. Lather was very good, as was prep, but the blade was having a bit more trouble than I expected, as it was producing some minor indications of razor burn on the first XTG pass, prompting that to become the only XTG pass and curtailing the shave at two passes for DFS results. On to new tools tomorrow!
