11/30/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra Classic, Wade & Butcher Bow straight razor
Blade: Feather Professional (6)
Brush: HJM Black Fibre
Soap: Barbon shave cream
After: Home made ASB, Barbon after shave
Cologne: Akthar Noir

It is Menthol Monday! The HJM brush whipped the Barbon shave cream into a nice and cool lather. The Bow and the Cobra did a great job removing the 2 days worth of stubble. The Barbon AS and the Akthar Noir were a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave +.

Any chance we can get a better shot of the knot please ? I have a Rubberset with the original knot that works well. It is just small compared to my new brushes. I am not sure if I should replace it with a larger knot or not.
I am wondering what shape and size the original one is with yours.

Had a decent 2 pass shave today. Was in a bay rum mood so I went with bay rum products. The RR brush has a dense knot and holds a ton of lather. The HTGAM made some acceptable lather, not the slickest but it was adequate and has a great scent. The Masters cooled down the skin and the Burts Bees moisturized afterwards. Hope everyone had a great day!

Sweet Relief!
I needed to shave off my November beard tonight because I won't have time in the morning. At first I thought der Futur might be able to cut through 30 days growth, but I quickly realized the folly. I trimmed it down and re-lathered with Old Reliable Tabac. I had prepped with PAA Ice for a nice cool, and once again Tabac delivered a superb shave with no drama and BBS. I feel like myself again.

Only took me a year to find one

Wow, that is a very nice brush. The knot on mine is half the height and maybe 75% - 80% if the density. Now I have a better idea of how it should be. Oh darn time to put a nice ubersoft or ubersoft 2 in it.

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #30RS Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my DeFitch Three Piece Razor and a Personna Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Pretty good shave tonight, however, I did mess up the soap water mix. Then I dropped the brush in a sink full of water. I've never done that before. Finally got things sorted out and the 3 pass shave turned okay. User error. Not really in love with this razor, but hopefully over the week I'll sort that out also. The soap and A/S were great.

You finally get to use that awesome brush! That's a beauty!
