  3. I believe you....I wish I could let it grow til the PAL makes the scene....But I have to pick up some of my wife's family at the airport tomorrow at noon...They are flying in from Turkey for the holidays....

I haven't shaved since Sat. so I'm starting to look like I've been on a 'bender' ha, ha...I haven't seen them in 2 years....hmmm.......I'm still thinking of not shaving till that PAL gets here....But I'm wondering if I'm jinxing it....Maybe by not shaving...it's keeping it from arriving and as soon as I shave it will show up....

Jury is still out.....I'll make up my mind later.....

  4. Had my first ever SE shave last night....picked one up a month ago but couldnt use it because no shave november. First ill say that i got a nice dfs shave. The first two passes were not the closest ive ever had but it was one of the smoothest. Didnt feel like a blade was loaded...third pass atg was not as smooth....not horrible but maybe ill stick with two when using the SE. I need to work on my technique so maybe ill use it a few weeks strait... im glad i picked this up from the second hand store and it found a nice spot in the rotation....maybe first shave of the week since it seemed to knock down thick hair with no pull....o sweet lord what new AD did i just develop!

  6. A 1912...i didnt even really know what it was at the time lol @JR Reyes had to tell me ....i asked if i should just throw a de in it ha.... 20151111_033445.jpg

  7. Ahhh....the 1912s are the standard by which all others are judged.....They are all great, but your Ever Ready is one of my favorite examples of the breed...}8^))
Are you using carbon steel blades or stainless..?...We don't have as many choices in blades as you do for DEs, but the choices we do have are both really good....Which ones are you using?
  8. Well I just can't handle these whiskers anymore....ahhh! So tonight's shave has given me alot of insight to use when I try the PAL...
No1: The E2 is very visually pleasing...
No2: 2 pass effortless DFS.....actually BBS except each side of my "adam's apple"
No3: I let the lather get alittle dry once and it got clogged twice and required a tad excessive rinsing..
No4: an ATG touch-up on each side of where my moustace would be if I had one, left a small cluster of weepers on each side...hmmm, but not so bad that a little cold water didn't removed the problem...
No5: thought about an ATG touch-up on my neck, just to catch the baby...But demured, didn't want to coax any more weepers out....

End assessment: Very aggressive shaver...more aggressive than my G8 but a tad smoother...although still a little on the rough side...and this is with the Chinese Schicks....
This razor always seems to leave me with a few weepers....and before this E2 I hadn't seen a weeper in years..My OCMM and ER1924 NEVER! Been using those for several years and never saw a weeper with either one...They are both smoother than this E2, but this E2 does give very efficient results inspite of the occassional weeper...

So hopefully, I'll be able to see how the PAL can rise to this occassion and make this bad boy look like an old spanner...ha,ha...If she will shave this close without the need for the touch-ups and without the weepers or clogging...

In other words...If she can shave as efficient and as smooth as my ER 1924 or 1914...and still have the quickness and manuverability of an injector.....She'll get the crown....

Thats a tall order......can she rise to the call?

  10. Wow....Super Congratulations.....Col. Schick was a genius, and he did invent a better mousetrap....lol.
All kidding aside....I think Injector Razors are my favorite way to shave...I'm glad, you enjoyed your Maiden Voyage...:happy088:
And your razor is absolutely stunning.....
  11. Find an injector and a 7 pack of Chick blades and I'll promise you'll be looking at a name change...:D
  12. Congrats and welcome to the sharp side......:D

  14. Welcome! Nice introduction to injector shaving. :happy088:

When you've used the Schick blade up try out a Personna in your G1 - YMMV but it made such a difference in one of my Gs that I'm not even waiting to replace the Schicks with Personna blades in the others.
  15. I won it in the donars pif. So I was very excited to try it out.
  16. I will most definitely try their blades, as my favorite DE blade are personna reds.

  17. I just bought the gem blades at walgreens but i would like to see if there is a sharper blade out there...i will keep them in the rotation since the felt pretty smooth

  18. Ill have to look into that because i did atart to wonder if there were better blades out there

  19. Today was the day to experiment with a modified Feather in my PAL Injecto Matic. I figured one of two things would happen: I'd forever from today be known as scarface after spilling buckets of blood, or I'd have a shave that was so deep that I wouldn't be shaving for the next two days and then some. Well, neither ended up being true. :shocked029:

The short story is that the blade tugged constantly and left a lot of stubble behind. The first pass was about half as effective as I expected and I noticed that I had to go back and re-do strokes as it seemed to be missing in random places. Four passes and touch ups later I could only get to a somewhat better than average DFS. :( The good news is that I only had a couple of very small, tiny even, weepers and the Osma block didn't turn up anything unusual.

My best guess is I somehow damaged the blade when loading it, or it was simply a dud blade, or it just isn't meant to be paired with a PAL. I've got some Feathers out now to cut down as I'll try it again another day with a new one to see what happens the second time.

    T&H Ultimate Comfort PSO
    T&H Wellington Super Badger
    AOS Lavender Cream
    PAL Injecto Matic
    Modified Feather Professional Blade (1)
    Osma Alum Block
    T&H Classic After Shave Balm

All experiments are successful if they yield usable data so you could say the experiment was a success but I sure wouldn't want to repeat the experience.

  20. :signs002:....You have definitely Damaged the blade Karl & or it was a Dud..Cause that aint like a Feather Pro Blade to do that...No Bones About it...These are Crazy Sharp Sir..:sad023:
