And I will modify my answer as well. I still use the Feather, but the Pro version in the Mongoose. Just about any (sharp enough) blade will be smooth in my Weber, but lately, I found that Fresh blades were phenomenal in my Futur, where a lot of other decent blades just didn't cut it (pun intended)!

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

In the Feather SS I would have to agree. And, in the right DE razor it can be. But my choice for smooth is still Voskhod. I know, you're shocked right?

I can see a pattern here, there are quite a number voting for:

    Astra SP
    Personna Lab Blue
    Voskhod
    Feather

I have tried all except for Voskhod, and the three I did try are very smooth and sharp (at least for me). I have bought the Astra SP and Personna blades in bulk because they filled all my needs for smooth, sharp and longevity for the price.

Feathers are sharp but to my face Kai blades are as sharp and smoother more comfortable shavers. I've used GSB for just over a month and they are nearly as good to me.

Big Ben is still my go-to for mild and smooth. I need to try more Lord offerings someday to see how similar they are.

Polsilvers SI IMHO. Astra and Feather would round out my top 3.

I have a feeling that different razor blade combos will give different results. My Progress offers excellent results with any Personna (Blue, Israel). I'm going to check out (compare) Personna and Feather tomorrow in my Feather. Prefer the Personna in my Progress.

Today, I tested the Feather razor in my Feather AS D2 razor. Previously, I was using Personna blades. As I suspected, There was a difference, a significant difference. The Feather blade is the sharpest of any blade I have ever used. Outside of the sound, it's like shaving without a blade(at least the first shave with a new blade). For the first time, I got a nick with my Feather. Nothing serious, A cold water splash on my face closed it. I was prepared to order Father blades, even if I only use it for the Feather but I not sure If I enjoy the feather blade over the Personna. I want to see how the second shave with the same blade goes. A few more shaves my clarify my thoughts. My feeling about different razor-blade combos giving different results was proven correct. The Feather blade, at least for the first shave, certainly makes the Feather AS D2 more aggressive.
As for my Merkur Progress, I'll stick with the Personna blade.

Thanks to @Billyfergie for reviving this old thread. Interesting to see many of the same blades and especially those that responded then still responding the same. The wide variety definitely proves the YMMV aspect of blades!

For me it is the Gillette Silver Blue and then Ladas.

For consistent smoothness, with no other criteria applied, I would have to say Voskhod, followed by, in no particular order, Polsilver, GSB, Astra SP, & 7 O'Clock Sharpedge (yellow) & super stainless (green), Perma-Sharp Super. I find all of these to be very smooth to my face, with Voskhod being the smoothest.

For me, these three are all equally smooth and at the top of the heap:

CVS store brand blades (made by Personna Israel)
    Silver Star Super Stainless
    Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus
