  1. I'm starting to get the injector AD and have been looking for good ones on the bay... Just have my one G1 but it shaves great. Want more!
  2. Seriously Karl. I'm really going to need you to stop giving these glowing shave reports. I just can't afford another "desert island" razor :happy102: Great report and yet another one for me to keep my eyes open for!

  3. Well, there are a lot of deserted islands in the world, you have to be prepared...
  4. The twin blades are both thicker and wider than a standard injector blade. Considering the delicate nature of the PAL adjustment mechanism, and the fact that the guard actually moves against the underside of the blade, I don't think that they would fit, and trying to make them fit could damage the razor.

  5. I can see the Jazz musicians in '42 huddleing around the trunk of a car in Harlem....."Yo Gate....I've only got eyes for a Schick....Com on Daddy...I've got this injector on my back....So Like,...flip me a trey gate...I won't get crummy chummy...Like I'll make the scene with the green on the flip-side Clyde..."( Hey friend, I can only shave with this Schick , dude...But now....I can't get my blades, bro....So please, I'll take 3 blades my friend....I won't rip you off, I'll be back with the money tomorrow, homey).....

  7. Wow! Thanks for the language lesson Bird. If I have to speak Jazz ever I at least have something to go off:happy088:
  8. + 1 on that Bob...I have got some NOS Personna Twin Blades in their original packaging...The American Safety Razor Company clearly state on the packaging that "Twin blades Do not Fit any PAL Injector "....Skull & Crossbones..:sick013:

  9. Tell me what you think of this @Billyfergie. Very unusual as it doesn't appear to have been mangled. Also, what kind of metal is this. Aluminum?

  10. That's bent without a Shadow of a Doubt...Its Gold Plated like any other Type G 1...It should straighten out...I have seen them also bent at the spring area and it can & or does Knacker them however...The head can be mangled as well because of the intricate way its designed..It does look as if its only bent at the base of the neck & it could be Fine & Dandy though ...;)

  12. Today, it was back to the SE. I will be partying with the MMOC and MM Clog-pruf for the rest of the year. Today featured a new soap and a new brush.

    Monday's
    [IMG]

    Dove Men Face Wash
Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti Shave Soap (first shave)
Jayaruh #31 2-band Finest (first shave)
    Micromatic OC
    GEM Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Pinaud Clubman AS

The Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #31 two-band finest badger brush. It has a light scent and lathers very easily. Two passes with my Micromatic OC Razor and a GEM Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
  13. Beautiful brush Jayaruh the color is very rich! :happy088:
  14. Well, I gently forced it back and everything seems to be fine. Thanks Billy! They must bend fairly easily. Are they made of aluminum to your knowledge?

  15. They are made of pressed steel..That neck bit that joins the handle is the weakest part of the razor for sure.. :)

  16. Talk about a perfect storm for a great shave! Cold water shaves are my preference and seem to be great for sensitive skin. I've heard great things about that soap. Enjoy that shave sir:happy088:
  17. Many thanks Billy!

  19. I respectfully disagree. Steel would rust. I've never seen a rusty Schick, but I've seen them encrusted in green gunk, a characteristic of brass.

Steel would also be magnetic, and none of mine respond to a magnet (after removing the blade).

I took a file to an E3 I I had with a whacked-out spring, and the metal underneath the gold does indeed appear to be brass.

If it were steel it would not bend so easily. I've seen several that were like the example above. Fortunately, a few seconds with a pair of pliers fixes everything.

That's an interesting one ...I once got a G Type alongside another Injector that I bought...I knew it was junk as it was the good one that I was after...But it looked a lot worse than this ...Mine wasn't cleaned up of course but it wasn't Brass that's for sure...It was heavily corroded and pitted and it was the colour & also felt like steel...That said I have often wondered if the earlier Models were brass as you say because I have noticed a weight difference of some of them in the hand..I have never actually weighed them to find out & or used a Magnet...:)
