Hey all, So, I've yet to take the (polar bear) plunge and would like to snag a couple of high-menthol soaps. What are all of you loving/hating these days?
Get some TSD M Bomb http://www.theshavedenshop.com/index.php?_a=product&product_id=203 and make what ever you want as cold as you want. I put: 4-5 drops in my palm with my shampoo 2-3 drops in my palm with my pre-shave oil 3-4 drops in my lather bowl 2-3 drops in my palm with my aftershave Great stuff!
Stirling glacials have great freezing capabilities. Also chiseled face cryogen is probally the coldest soap I've tried. So cold in fact, I cannot stand it It makes my eyes water and my hands shake The crakstar will chime in shortly, I'm sure
Here I am to add my 25 cents worth - what's 2 cents? lollllllllll Although the Chiseled Face Cryogen is somewhat, though slightly ahead of the Glacials in the menthol power I don't like the complete lack of skincare from it as well as the difficulty to lather it. The Glacials are almost painfully-cold (in a great way!) and you get beautiful scents from them, awesome lather, and brilliant skincare. Here are some other frosty face-freezers which I enjoy: 1) Krampert's Frostbite 2) First Canadian Polar Vortex 3) Stirling Frozen Tundra 4) Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic 5) Stirling Black Ice 6) Queen Charlotte Soaps Vostok 7) TSD Subzero
Great lists and advice! Thanks, all! @crackstar Any of those that you see as standouts, performance-wise?
Cryogen is amother soap that is ridiculously mentholated. A bit too much for me, but sure to be a nice fix for a menthol junkie.
Margaritas in the Artic is nice. M- bomb is nice. You can ratchet up the menthol a drop at a time on any soap, aftershave, or preshave you choose.
@crackstar is our local master of menthol. Add my favorite after shave, Barbasol Pacific Rush, very, very cold. Carried by Dollar General.
+2 for Stirling Glacials! I also use Cryogen or when I really want a good face freeze I'll combine one of the Glacials with Cryogen for an uber freeze lather! P.S. Thanks again @crackstar for the Cryogen
The coldest soap I've tried is Iced Sub Zero. If you are really into menthol, make sure you finish your shave with a nice splash of Osage Rub aftershave. That might be the coldest stuff I've ever put on my face.
Queen Charlotte also has iced key lime. It is by far my favorite soap. I use it year round. Even in the god forsaken Iowa winters with -20 temps and wind chill on top of that.
+1 for cryogen, you gotta try it. Dr jons arctic hydra is one of my favorites but milder. I think I'm going to have to place an order for the key lime soon.
