  2. Yes, whether with creams or hard soaps, I leave the brush in the scuttle to keep the lather warm.

  3. London Fog
Today is warm, wet and foggy- not seasonable at all! We might get thunderstorms tonight!
In honor of this weather, I used Maggard's London Barbershop soap and aftershave. They both performed very well for an easy comfortable shave. Pi Neo works nicely with this scent, and I thought this filter was appropriate.

    Prep: PAA Ice
    Soap: Maggard's London Barbershop
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze
    Razor: der Futur
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    AS: Maggard's London Barbershop
    Edt: Givenchy Pi Neo

  4. Hello folks, today's SOTD as follows;

    Gem Clog-Pruf Micromatic.
    Vintage Gem Reversible blade.
    Chinese Badger Hair brush.
    Proraso Red shaving soap.
    Captains Choice Sandalwood AS Splash.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

This shave had some first time used items. I had this Clog-Pruf Micromatic razor a long time but never used it before. I just acquired the reversible blade display, and although I tried one of this kind of blade before, I hadn't tried one from this batch. I wanted to check to make sure they are serviceable. They are. I had a two pass DFS and it all went well. Here's a photo of the razor and blade display. -

  11. Nice array of vintage blades. Congratulations on the blade find. I was not aware that GEM offered a reverse blade (great idea).
The GEM Clog-Pruf MM is my favorite GEM razor, able to do anything the OCMM can do without the stress. The sweet spot of the MM family. Enjoy !!

  13. After cycling through several new to me soaps and razors, I thought it time to revisit the ones that I started with.
I'm enjoying a couple great boar brushes by Omega, but the VDH is still in service. The soap doesn't compare to my preferred tallow types, but it's serviceable.
I started my wet shave journey to learn straight razors, but got distracted by the FatBoy. It's still a favorite, especially with a Feather blade.
The 4711 cologne? My appreciation for vintage and a fortuitous visit to an antique shop!

  14. When I first saw it 3.5 years ago just had to have it as I hadn't seen anything like it before and none since. Very good shaver, up until two weeks ago I owned six different slants and this one was the 3rd best shaving slant I owned behind the iKon and S2. This one will always be in my den as it is a close but smooth shaver and it's uniqueness.
  15. Thank you. When I break out the "Veg", I gotta go with the Big Guns. ;)
