  2. Lumberjack is the only scent I have from Route 66, so don't know about her other scents....but the soap base is Flawless! It practically lathers itself!
  3. Sweet looking razor and setup.
  4. Really great soap! Your product was the biggest surprise winner of 2015. I have been playing with it, changing water ratio and trying to induce failure. Route 66 lathers well in very hard water in Colorado, and is tolerant to a range of water ratios. Thanks for becoming a supporting vendor! I look forward to your products in the future!

    Buy a tub!
  5. I'm willing to say all of Route 66 soaps are awesome!!
  6. Gotta be! The lumberjack smells nice enough to be an everyday soap for me. The lather is so consistent and easy that I am considering Route 66 for my trip down SR Lane...I had some of my best DE shaves yet with Route 66.
  7. You guys are a bad influence, you inspire me to not stop Christmas shopping. :p:santa
  8. If you buy she offers TSD members a discount
  9. Pay attention...I don't endorse/advocate for a specific product very often, but this is really good soap. :)
  10. Awesome! Do I just give my handle on the forum?

  13. Thank you, all kidding aside I appreciate good advice/feedback from you guys. I have made all of my purchases based on your experiences and haven't been let down yet. Thank you all! :happy088:
  14. I have been making mine a thick "latex paint" consistency....and it is super thick and slick!
  15. Thank you, Tom, for the kind words!
  16. Congrats Clint! Looks like you have mastered the Gem. It's a looker. Has it been replated? And, of course, I love that Doug Korn brush.

3 comfortable near BBS shaves from the Rapira Super Stainless in my New LC with the Strop Shoppe Baker Street. Used the same procedure as I have recently: 2 passes with touch up.

Sorry, I haven't been posting. I've had three days of fun with our soon to be 8 year old grandson who came up from Florida with our daughter. His bedroom is just a Jack & Jill bathroom away from my office, and he is a very early riser, so I haven't had time to post any shaves since his arrival. He's been keeping me busy. I don't mind though, he is a joy to have around. I'm a playmate: Minecraft, foam sword fights, and Nerf gun battles. We've also watched Harry Potter movies in the basement before the house wakes up. He’s out with his mother visiting, so I finally had a chance to catch up.

I know I've missed at least 1 birthday, and failed to wish everyone a Merry Christmas beforehand. I hope @clint64’s birthday was nice, and that everyone had a Merry Christmas with their families.

Warm wishes for the New Year!

I received a nice Christmas present from my bride: the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Double OC safety razor. Couldn't resist and I took it for a spin this morning. The Strop Shoppe Baker Street produced its usual bountiful lather to go along with my present:

2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG. Good reduction. Pass 2: ATG. I did a moderate amount of touch up where I could feel stubble. A cool water rinse followed by a moderate amount of touch up. The Pinaud Clubman stung a little, then settled down to its typical warm glow. Still had plenty of lather when I finished. Enough for another pass or two.

A very enjoyable near BBS shave with the Phoenix Double OC. I went with my Astra SP today since it gives me smooth shaves and was one of my early favorites and still in my top 4. I worked a bit harder trying to get the BBS today. I thought I had it, but an hour after, I could feel the beginning of stubble, so I'll call it a near BBS. The Phoenix DOC appears to be a nice razor. It feels good in my hands and on my face and it seems very mild. I like the lather it leaves behind. It helps with blade buffing. I think I know what my January focus will be.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Lord's Day!
  19. Agreed. My Bride loves the scent of Lumberjack. I would describe it as energizing, bright, or cheerful, if that makes any sense. It smells more like a dessert than a lumberjack. The website describes is as "...notes of fresh pear and pineapple, mid notes of juniper berries and eucalyptus; and well rounded base notes of spruce woods, Douglas fir, cedar and white musk."

I probably would never have purchased the soap based on the scent name or description. I usually go for unscented, lavender, and sandalwood products, so this would have been way outside my field of view. I credit Doug for the generous gift and Salty Belle for her unique talents. I bet the other Route 66 scents are fantastic as well.
  20. :signs154: Super looking razor. Enjoy! :happy088:
