The 48 is often touted as the biggest but according to Omega, the 20106 has a bigger knot. In short, I love it, which is why I use it the most. The handle is more comfortable than the 48, and doesn't slide around in the hand as much when covered in the loads of lather it is capable of whipping up. Like the 48, it's a right lather hog but sure that's all the fun of boars, isn't it? I'm looking at getting a couple of solid handles made up, one for a re-knot, and another for a silvertip badger. I found it very soft right from the start but after sixteen months, it's just incredible. At no point has the backbone weakened even slightly. The other benefit was that it was REALLY cheap, much more so than the 48.
Amazing review. Thanks! Reason me asking is that I can't really find much on it. People love 48 and if this knot compares I'm hoping it's a winner. I also like the looks if the handle better plus it's in stock as well

Menthol Monday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/new Derby Stirling Frozen Tundra SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Fine Snake Bite AS Drakkar Noir EdT Although it's expected to be a much colder day here in Montreal I'll still keep up my reputation of being a menthol freak, and these are great tools to do it with!
Monday's Dove Men Face Wash Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap Jayaruh #38 High Mountain Badger Micromatic Clog-Pruf GEM Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Florida Water The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #38 High Mountain Badger brush. Two passes with my Micromatic Clog-Pruf Razor and a GEM Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Florida Water after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
This is my setup for tomorrow's shave.. Going to give the new SS a try, but I'm really into this Omega cream, the test lather was amazing! So here we go!
December 28 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed (Z3) Feather (2) Rudy Vey Custom Shavemac two-band silvertip * Route 66 Lumberjack Two passes Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine L'Orange We've made to the last week of the December focus, and 2015 is almost in the books! I've had three surprises so far this month. First, the Super Speed is a terrific all around razor. It's a well-made piece of history, fun to use, and it delivers a fine shave. Second, the Route 66 Soap is a joy to use in terms of performance, slickness, and protection. And third, the knot popped right out of my RV brush handle this morning while I was rinsing it out. I'll secure it with some silicone some tomorrow. In the meantime, one of my trusty Kent brushes will pinch-hit. I'm on a Blues kick, so I included a tune from Eric Clapton's Unplugged album. Happy Monday!
Monday's Planned Shave (in sentence form) First of all, an apology to those who "liked" my shower plan for today. Just as the center snapped the pigskin, I called an audible, and used Suave Heritage 1937 for my shampoo, which led to my shave switch to Gillette Series A.S. Splash. Someone at the weather service predicted a warm pleasant day. NEAUPE. Ergo the switch. Anyway-the next few days will be kinda chilly, even some snow Tuesday or Wed. so I'll shave with Gillette Foamy Barbershop Fresh, and follow it up with Clubman Country Club.

Going with a couple of vintage items... Country Club Fern is a top performer in my opinion, and leaves my face feeling smooth and nourished. You gents have a good week...
Thanks JR. The wood grain on this Turkish Walnut is better than I had imagined from the pics that were on Elite Razor website
