So, last monday and tuesday I visited an old friend who lives some 145 km (90 miles) away. At a pace of 45 km/h (28 mph) it took me a while to get there (and back). Including lunch break it took me about 6 hours both times. Today I finally got the pictures uploaded:
The Zeelandbrug (Zealand Bridge). At 5 km (just over 3 miles) it once was Europe's longest bridge. It still is impressive (to me, that is

). In the background is Zierikzee. It is a beautiful yet small city with lots of monument buildings and the 'capital city' of the island where I live.

Antwerp (from the left bank). Another really beautiful city. I've done my studies there. In the centre of the pic is the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kathedraal, a beautiful building. I crossed the river Schelde via a pedestrian tunnel of 500 meters length. There are no bridges in Antwerp, only tunnels.

On the road back I took the same roads. Here is the pedestrian tunnel:

And the view I had on my lunch location (notice the Minions lunch box

). Again Antwerp. The river makes a bend here, so I'm still on the right bank. The reddish building that looms out on the left side is the MAS (Museum On The Stream), a nautical museum. There's free access to the roof, which gives a beautiful view on the city and the river.
