Hello fellow Shave Denizens, my SOTD for today/Monday is as follows; 1910 Gillette ABC Sunburst case, Scroll pattern razor. Polsilver Super Iridium blade. Chinese Badger hair brush. King Louis Lavender shaving soap. King Louis Lavender AS Splash. Nivea Post Shave Balm. Avon Mesmerize cologne. This is one awesome razor. It has the wide teeth on the comb indicating it was an early production run. The wide teeth also make it more aggressive/efficient. I had a two pass BBS with this razor/soap set up today. It was very good. Here's the photo - Have a good night, and a great week coming up!

SOTD MON. DEC. 28/15 PRE SHAVE CLEANSER: NOXZEMA CLASSIC CLEANSER: COLD WATER !! PRE SHAVE OIL: NONE TODAY SHAVE CREAM: RR MUDDA FOCKER SHAVE BRUSH: @Jayaruh #12 RAZOR: 1957 C-2 RED TIP BLADE: GSB AFTER SHAVE BALM: VASELINE COOLING HYDRATING LOTION SOAP: GRANDPA'S PINE TAR SOAP COLOGNE: THALLIUM YVES DE SISTELLE Three pass BBS today no touchups needed. Love this razor paired with the MF'R soap it's just dreamy. People I'm really digging the @Jayaruh #12 brush. It's blissful to face lather with and beautiful for painting those soaps or creams on. Conforms very precisely to facial features and pinches beautifully for under the nose area. I may only be using my other brushes cause I feel sorry for them after this. Have a great shave and a great day.
After this ice-cold experience I'm feeling great. The Frozen Tundra soap lathered so beautifully although it's a thirsty boy, and its menthol power is almost as strong as one of the Glacials, so it's capable of freezing a guy's face off big-time. The Snake Bite aftershave smells pure menthol - nothing else, and it feels downright frigidly nice. The new Derby in my Super Speed helped me get an amazing BBS shave!
I had my 2nd shave with Route 66 Retro Spice, this soap is spectacular! Route 66 can hold its own right up there with the big players in wet shaving, and surpassing many of them in quality and customer service. If you haven't picked up a jar of Route 66 you owe it to yourself. Retroshaveshop Btw, Retro Spice smells better than Old Spice.
We are using the same razor today. I had forgotten just how smooth and efficient the Clog-pruf really is. It is such a pleasure to whisker wack with it.
Menthol Monday Krampert’s Frostbite provided excellent lather this morning, as whipped up by my Brothers Bristles Spartan Bronze brush. I enjoyed the cool feeling as der Futur decapitated my stubble smoothly and comfortably. I finished up with B&M Lavanille tonique. Another nice and easy BBS.
Gem G-Bar razor Gem Blue Star blade RazoRock Plissoft brush Cade SS Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Pinaud Clubman A/S Haven't used an SE razor for quite awhile and think I need more practice. Ended up with a nice shave, just had to work a little harder than usual. Think I"ll use the G-Bar all week and see how it goes. Now go enjoy your day folks.

December 28, 2015 48-49 Milord Astra SP (1) On Saturday, the wandering Milord finally arrived from its detour to Kansas City. After a good long soak, it cleaned up very nicely and today was my first shave with it. (I'll try to post a pic or two when I get some time.) I'm assuming that a Milord is nothing more than a gold-plated SuperSpeed and that it should shave the same as a 40's SS. Correct? I ask because my only other experience with a SS is my '64 Flare Tip and this is a different experience. I wouldn't call it aggressive, but it is definitely not as mild as my 60's Flare Tip which is almost too mild for me at times. It's probably about what I'd get if I turned my Slim Adjustable up to 7 or 8 and probably close to my DeFitch DE91. I think I can see why the 40's SS has a following. All-in-all, a one-pass DFS, though I can see that I should have paid a bit more attention to a line right under my nose. I assume I misjudged the head geometry a bit there. JR

MONDAY Another 'Tally Ho' Sheffield morning as I used my other (smaller) Frederick Fenney, 7/8" (circa 1830-40) for today's shave. This chilly morning, I also used my smaller Robert Becker scuttle to make some warm Institut Karité lather—with a splash of TSD M-Bomb added! Three pass über-close shave with a Stirling finish! Have a great Monday, all!
