Maybe whatever stole the spine destroyed the temper. A good tempering might fix it.

 

The Semogue Boar brush is soaking. I'm trying to pick a soap. I'm thinking MWF but may decide to go with a cream instead. Straights 2016 is starting early at my place.

At least Neal didn't take a swig of The Veg. But if he had any consideration for our entertainment, he could have at least put on a blindfold and corked the blade after the first pass!

I made a slick lather with great scent. I did a NS pass and a Ears to mouth pass to finish with no irritation, no blood loss and a DFS. I can feel a bit of stubble around the jaw and neck but only if I rub ATG. I'm happy with the shave. I finished with Nivia and a splash of Thayers so now I smell pretty.

 

Wow, that sounded awful. I know your dedication to investigative work, but I respectfully suggest that you call it on this one and insure that no one else injures themselves with it. Go back to the W.B. Speed Rabbit and enjoy the experience. Only my humble suggestion. I suspect you may agree, but will feel compelled to soldier on a little further...

 

Dec 29 Shave 2.20

Next up is my favourite smelling cream/croap but not a top performer for me, original Aqua Di Parma. I used the scuttle and my tea pot today, the lather was good but I could not get the wet yogurt style I prefer so I kept it thick. I think the lather was too hot, apparently AdP does not perform great under high heat. Despite this the shave went smooth and I did 4 passes with my ATT R2 loaded with a new Super Iridium. The alum test gave only a faint tingle and solid BBS. An excellent shave. Tomorrow I will put the AdP to SR test but without boiling water.

Crazy month with holidays and major life changes. I probably only shaved 7 or 8 times but all were within my menthol month plan. Notes: too much m-bomb makes my face cold for hours, too many hours. I am free to switch to a de razor if my straight isn't honed up enough. And Christmas is a season - I don't have to mope if the kids are with me later in the season not on the exact day.

I hope to be around more in the coming year. I did have a Christmas recruit. Was able to share my first de restoration as a Christmas gift with interest youngster. 21 year old convert. Yes!

Can't get enough of this soap, perfection, every time. Asco delivered a smooth two pass shave, and the Veg was the Veg! Been below freezing for 100 hours now! Other than that... all is quiet in Colorado.

I sincerely apologize for the failure in entertainment value. While I am distressed at your dissatisfaction I am most devastated about the fact you dressed in new pleated pants. Had I known you were going THAT far in your preparation and anticipation I would have at least made an additional attempt to shave my head with the Soviet as well. Or, failing that, stood on one leg while singing the Soviet National Anthem and shaving with the wrong hand. I can only beg your forgiveness.

 

Where do we send our receipts for popcorn reimbursement? Kyoto or Gorky office?

 

I look forward to your impressions of Maca Root! It's one of the classics I've not yet tried.
