Hello Folks, today's SOTD as follows; 1936 English Gillette Aristocrat-(pre #15 silver plated ) 1956 Gillette Blue Blade. Chinese Badger Hair brush. Proraso Red shaving soap. Nivea Post Shave Balm. Captains Choice Sandalwood AS Splash. Avon Mesmerize cologne. Tonight I wanted to pamper myself a little, so I dug out my pre #15 English Aristocrat. I don't use it a lot because I don't want to damage the silver plate. But it is a fine shave tool. Once I had the lather right this razor delivered a two pass DFS/BBS. Here's the photo- God Bless, and have a great night.

Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Jumping Juniper shampoo cake from Lush Soap/cream- De Vergulde Hand Extra fris shaving soap Brush- Plisson synthetic Razor- WEBER polished head all stainless steel Blade- Personna lab blue Post- Cold water rinse, Kueshi Pure and clean face toner and Talika Photo-hydra day moisturizer First using the De Vergulde hand soap. It's a hard soap and smells very nice. Honestly I can't identify what the scent is, but I can smell that it's a fresh scent. I chose the extra fris because of that. It's a hard soap but it wasn't hard to load which is positive. I used my plisson because it the brush I like to use on new soaps because I'm not sure how long I'll have to face lather to get the lather right. This time it actually took a little longer than usual, maybe I loaded to much or maybe my brush was to dry. A guy on Instagram said it's a thirsty soap which I really agree with. I got a nice shave, good performance and good scent. I didn't get the best lather, but that's due to technique I'm sure. This soap isn't still around because of mediocre lather. I'll use it a few more times to dial it in =) the soap is loose in its container, the first use I loaded from the bottom to moist it a little and then I put it back in the container. That is supposed to help it stick when it's dry. I tried my razor with 1 shim, it's not as good as 2 shims. So that is the sweet spot. It sucks to have to use shims. But I will find a permanent solution to it that isn't to glue the shim on I like the print on the soap itself. Very cool =) @macaronus I finally got this soap, remember when we talked about it?
