  1. Tolles Bild wie immer Herr Thorsten. Ich dachte an dieses Aftershave zu kaufen aber leider kann ich nicht es finden. :(

Ich wünsche Dir und Deiner Familie auch alles Gute ins neues Jahr!

    LG
  2. I'm sorry about your bad shave, try another blade? Very little pressure is needed.

Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost
Razor: Mongoose B3 Dr. Bomber Handle
    Blade: Kai Captain Original
    Lather: Route 66 Retro Spice
    Brush: Oscar11 28mm Silvertip
Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate
    Aftershave: Fine L'Orange Noir
I wanted to start off the New Year with a fantastic shave, this setup did not disappoint. Route 66 Retro Spice is so slick my blade glide through the whiskers. Beautiful Old Spice scent. I'm so happy with my Mongoose purchase, this razor is a joy to use. It's funny how one brush can change your taste in knot choices. My Oscar11 Silvertip is an amazing brush! I'm so thankful that JR had me in mind when he was looking for a new home for it. Fine L'Orange Noir is a great way to end any shave.

  5. For my New Years shave I brought out a razor I haven't used in a long time. It was a fantastic shave! The Bullet tip makes such a nice sound, singing almost as you shave. I used a GEM stainless blade for a smooth near BBS finish. Excellent! Have a great day everyone!

  8. Friday

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Pig Trail
    Soap: The Savoy
    Razor: Gillette Fat Boy
Blade: Gillette 70’s “Spoiler” Super Stainless (6)
    Brush: Elite Razor Silvertip-24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Burberry Brit

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

The Savoy today. 20 seconds to load the Elite Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. 70’s Gillette “Spoiler” still in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Burberry Brit.

The Savoy by Henri et Victoria from The Shave Shop is new to me. It is an excellent soap and a superb match for Burberry Brit!
Thanks for JR Reyes for the heads up!!

  9. Frey's Day, 1/1/16:

Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Jasmine Oakmoss glycerin with mango butter
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma Alum, Ginger's Garden Jasmine Oakmoss AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

Kicking off the new year by switching to some old familiar tools, and some brand new scented toys from Ginger's Garden. The puck smells great, in a more classically 'masculine' way than the Jasmine Amber; I love both the scents, though. It may need a couple of 'test lathers' to really start producing thick lather, but it was plenty slick, with one tiny weeper from catching a blackhead. As before, my biggest regret is that I didn't try Ginger's Garden aftershave products sooner, since the scent and skincare is so outstanding. DFS results in two passes, with the single aforementioned spot of blood.

  14. 1st shave of 2016!

C&E Nomad soap face lathered w/Duke 2 Best
Red Tip Super Speed w/7 o'clock Sharp Edge blade
Witch hazel followed by Nivea ASB finishing w/Old Spice aftershave

2-passes w/touch-up for a near BBS shave. I'm really liking the lather being produced by my Duke 2 Best w/Nomad soap. Excellent cushion and slickness.

  16. Happy New Year!
Just a pleasant two pass shave today. I think I over-watered the Fireside, but the lather was still yogurty and slick. I was able to really appreciate the scent of this soap for the first time today and I agree, it's much too boozy to be an aftershave! I noted the wine and cedar the most, it's very well done. I finished up with Lavanille.

Even though the Spartans got crushed yesterday, the season was still a success and part of the best decade ever for football at my alma matter. #reachhigher
