Looks like the plans are coming together

 

I want to try some more aggressive razors. The most aggressive razors I have are my ATT h1 plate, beyond that I think that my Grandfather's Fat Boy on 9, or my Wife's Grandfather's Slim on 9, and I also have a Red Tip Super Speed. I will probably pick up a LA Shaving BBS-1 (I have a thing for stainless steel razors). The problem is that I really dislike the modern razors (except for the stainless ones they are my favorites) even the ones most guys like I have a Mercur 34c and the pot metal head ruins it for me I only use it for travel.

3. De Vergulde hand shaving soap
4. Maybe a Semogue owners club
5. Knockoutshave shaving soap

 

I hit everything except for the straight. I did get familiar with a shavette. I pulled out the straight this morning. It was freshly honed earlier this year and has been waiting for me. first pass along the right sideburn tugged like crazy. Not sure if the hone job wasn't very good or if it's something else. I've never stropped before, but it looks like I'll need to try stropping it a bit and see if it feels any better.

All 4 completed, as for my #5, TBD Would say try synthetic brushes, which I did and turned out to be what I use 99% of the time now.

 

40% of the 2015 list completed.

Nice job for those who got to complete their check list....

 

Finished them all.

Interesting enough, they all turned out to be disappointments with the exception of the TGN finest knot, which has become a favorite. I now have three brushes with TGN finest knots ranging from 20 - 26mm. All top performers.

 

All but the AoS cream.

1. CHECK. Tried both Lavanille and Leviathan. Performed well, didn't like Lavanille smell.
2. MISS
3. CHECK. I have Strop Shoppe in three scents and they are fantastic soaps.
4. CHECK. Not only is the nickname killer, so is the shave. Not in a good way, for me. Couldn't ever get comfortable with the heft of it, and never found a single blade that worked well. Maybe a 37C would be better.
5. MISS ... Still want to try MWF.

 

Can't believe you haven't tried an injector! Didn't I see a type O in your warehouse? If you want to try a twin blade in one of your injector razors I'll send you a pack. Just PM your address and I'll send them!

 

That was his to try list for 2015, from the end of 2014, he has checked it off the list that he's tried it now I do believe.
