  4. We should probably knock off the fight song at some point though. I don't know the process for getting off of a watchlist.

  6. GSB and Sputnik are 2 of my top 3 blades. Does that make up for anything or do you have to call the boys on me? (Still not sure about Ladas, have used them only once - but don't tell anyone)
  7. Good enough for me. Neal, cancel that flight from Moscow to Berlin.

  11. I have noticed the quality of lather being so much more important with straights, too. And just as @NCoxSTL mentioned, this journey is making me focus more on that aspect as well.

  15. Thanks I had no choice but to vastly improve after the mess I made of it last week I just need to focus on keeping it up now.

First shave with my Phoenix DOC loaded with the Gillette Silver Blue. 2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG. Very good reduction. Pass 2: ATG. Very good reduction also, followed by my small amount of touch up where I could feel stubble. A cool water rinse and a small amount of touch up brought home the baby. The Pinaud Clubman stung a small amount, then settled down to its usual warmth. I had enough lather left over for at least another pass.

A nice comfortable BBS from the Phoenix DOC and the GSB. What a difference a blade can make. I didn't realize how much closer a shave I'd have switching from the Lord Platinum Class to the GSB. I’m glad I have a few on hand!

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

  20. You know what - seeing this setup I just call it quits on my Merkur 15c and move right over to the DOC, loaded with a GSB. I'll use the MFW as well but my brush will be a different one, since I don't own a Vulfix Badger ;) Going to take a shower now and shave - will be back later.
