When I check out Cambridge Chemists I always wonder, is it really worth spending the $ on this? The EDT is one of my favs! I have tried a few tallow based soaps - all with miserable results. Very classy SOTD pic!

    Thanks guys!

It is some nice soap, would be great if it actually smelled like the EDT :drool :drool

For the photo, my wife had a dozen roses in a vase.....I borrowed one for the photo :) too bad my razor wasn't cleaned up :o:o

Thanks Neale.......I had just purchased my CF Lime and a half-priced Royall sampler at Cambridge Chemists...out of the corner of my eye I saw the C&S 88 soap sitting there. I had already blown more money than could be justified. So I held out and promptly walk across the way and bought a DR Harris Arlington Shave Stick at Pasteur's. Anyway...this is another soap I "have" to try. You're killing me. Thanks!

    Hehe Jordan,

I thought you were going to say thanks for saving you some money. :) Your very lucky to be near a store and be able to walk in and smell / sample the items before purchase

Yes sir, for a puck of soap that actually kinda stinks :shocked003 Scent wise.....it does make an excellent lather though ;)

It is nice review. But I have to say its price is normal(among top soaps) for this side of the world. If I want to buy AOS soap puck, I will pay something between $35-40. Fyi, C&S and AOS are working with Valobra so they are identical except their scents which are complicated unlike AOS. I think it smells like terebinth but I am not sure. Anyway it is a good soap.

Price is high, lather is decent, scent is not really the EDT scent at all. Maybe there's some added, but the aroma just is nothing great -- nothing to be excited about. Disappointment for me sicne I really liked the #88 EDT.

    Perfectly said.

I would much rather get 2 Trumper or DR Harris pucks. It does lather like crazy, but it doesn't really smell like #88. Very, very overrated. I would pay $18 a puck, but $36 is way too much.
