Saturday! Day #4 of the seven day exploration: Tcheon Fung Sing Italia Fern shaving soap Prep: hot shower Music: Mike Oldfield, Music Of The Spheres Brush: vintage DVH boar Soap: Tcheon Fung Sing Italia Fern shaving soap Razor: Gillette Slim (birth quarter) @9 Blade: Schick platinum blade Shave: 3-pass Post: DVH alum, hand strop blade & reload upside-down The soap: It has about the same hardness as the Tcheon Fung Sing barbe rosse shaving soap, which I tried last Wednesday (day #1 of the seven day exploration - see post #1 in this thread). So a bit softer than Cella. The scent is fresh and soapy. I rellay like it! Ingredients: Stearic acid Aqua Cocos nucifera oil Potassium hydroxide Sodium hydroxide Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil (sweet almond oil) Parfum Benzyl benzoate Cinnamic aldehyde Citronellol Coumarin Eugenol Geraniol Limonene Linalool A-isomethylionone Quite a list. Notice the sweet almond oil and cocos oil, which are said to improve the elasticity of your skin and they should suit also the most sensitive skins. Lathering: The brush loads quickly and forms lather as quickly as Cella and is nice and slick. Shave: The slick lather has a nice cushioning effect. No slickness remains after the pass. After the shave: The alum stings today, but that may be my own fault (I made a little less lather and a bit thinner as well) The scent lingers longer than Cella, but in an hour it has dissipated. Overall verdict: This is a great soap of good quality which lathers easily. The price is € 15,95 (where I got it). If the scent compares to TSD English Fern shave cream (I'd better try it!), you would better take the TSD cream. JoAnna's products are top notch and way better priced! Shave result: DFS. Have a great weekend, ya'll! Make it count!
1/9/16 First face shave with Blackland Blackbird and 2 Year TSD Anniversary Shave I've been shaving the traditional way for 2 years and many razors have come and gone through my den. I rarely achieve the near mythical BBS...until today! Wow. What a shave and what a razor! I am amazed and almost stunned at how easy this shave was. The shaving angle just was there, all over my face, and 2 passes left me so close to BBS that I think I may never want to pick up another razor again. I can now breathe a little easier knowing that my youngest son can have my Weber in a few years (months actually) when he needs to start removing peach fuzz from his 12 year old face. Prep: warm wash Lather: Palmolive Lemon cream Brush: TGN synthetic Razor: Blackland Blackbird Blade: Persona Blue (2) Post: Old Spice

Saturday Night Shave Razor: Weishi 9306-C Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (1) Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger Pre-shave: Proraso Eucalyptus&Menthol Soap: Proraso Eucalyptus&Menthol AS: Proraso Eucalyptus&Menthol I had a decent shave but couldn't got a complete BBS but very close to it. Some hair left in neck area maybe that's because of my first shave with weishi. I can get a better shave next time possibly. Have a great weekend, all!
Thank you, I believe I will. Contract work with a small team, installing comms gear in vehicles on base.
Razor- weishi Blade- Astra sp (new) Soap- proraso green Witch hazel AS - traders joes balm (from kit) Since I posted earlier in the week about my frustrations. I took some advice and decided to get back to basic. I was Trying to hard to get bbs. So I had to wait til I healed after my last shave and toned down the amount of passes. No more atg passes. I got an ok shave today. Some redness. I took a hot shower and did the following: 1 pass wtg 1 pass xtg to the left 1 pass xtg to the right 1 pass wtg after. I still got a little red. Not bad but still. I don't know if the few red bumps were the previous bumps I had or new. I still have some hair when I feel against the grain but overall an ok shave. It may be technique I'm still dealing with or the weishi. But I'm sticking to this for 30 days. Let's hope my 30 days goes well
