  1. Great assortment of good gear. :happy088:
  2. I know the focus is on the wilkinson, but that mug... *drol*

I look forward to your thoughts on your first RR =)

With Rods preshave, do you leave it on? Meaning lather over it?
  3. It's nice innit? :)
It's bigger than I thought - probably bigger than any ceramic/porcelain mugs that I own so I think I'll use it when I soak a larger brush like the huge Kent T12.
I do love that blue colour.....

And don't worry - not many people look twice at a cartridge razor ;)
  4. Yeah! It's very nice. Looks like great condition too.

I do like it that you own razors like the wolfman, tradere, mongoose etc and you use stuff like this. When I got my weber, all other razors went into the drawer hahaha

  6. I leave it on while I'm brushing my teeth, then I rinse it off and lather up.
  7. Outstanding picture. :happy088::happy088: Is the brush handle brass?

    Great picture today!!!

    Excellent picture...:happy096:
  8. Thank you! Not a bad collection you have in your picture either!

  9. So I ended up calling an audible and used my Omega long handled boar brush instead of my badger just to try it out. It did a pretty nice job of lathering and getting in deep in my stubble. Only downside is the long bristles makes it easier to accidentally get shaving cream on my ears and sometimes in my hair. Overall I was impressed. This may be my new go-to brush. :)

    Another great picture Don! :happy088:

I hope your week has started off well. We finally had our first snow over the weekend (less than 1 inch of accumulation), but it was enough to close some of the area schools today. Temps this morning were in the single digits. More snow is possible tonight and tomorrow. I'm ready for Spring!

I showed a friend at work some SOTD photos last week. This morning, he was asking about DE shaving. He wants to save some money over the expensive carts he currently uses. As I was explaining how much money he could save, another coworker overheard the conversation. He came up and showed him a photo of all his razors, soaps, and brushes. Oh, well...the truth had to come out eventually. :)

    Have a terrific Tuesday!

  13. SHAVE OF the day
    20160111_182255.jpg

    Razor: 1953 Gillette Tech
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (10th and final shave)
    Brush: Ever ready Badger-lon
    Soap: Jabonman terra humeda (*bombed*)
    Aftershave: Fine L'Orange Noir
    Balm: Myrsol Emulsion

Decent 2 pass pass shave this morning. The soap made a nice lather, decdied to add some menthol glycerin to add a cooling effect. The GSB Blade is done after today, and after 10 shaves it has showed me that they are great blades. Finished the shave with Orange Noir. Hope everyone had a great shave!
  14. I finally managed to tame the OCMM but not intentionally. I normally don't shave after showering. Mostly because I stopped rush shaving and shave in the evening.
If anything I've been known to shave then shower.
I decided to change things up today and well shower and shave decided on the OCMM.
Using Speick shaving cream and chose my vintage softest badger brush.
To my surprise the blade starting cutting the whiskers with no effect or tugging even around my heavier and coarser chin area.
Apparently soften whiskers work better with the GEM blade.
No redness, no nics. Just a DFS. A good shave day as never felt before using a OCMM. :eatdrink013:

  15. Well done Rob. Super looking vase and razor. :happy088:
  16. Thanks wife's vase, I liked the lines and colour it added to the picture. OCMM come in both nickel and brass. This weekend I saw my first brass version for $15 but left it NB2016.

    Dove Men Face Wash
    Tabac
    Jayaruh #32 horse
    Gillette Black Tip
    Personna
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #32 horse hair brush. Two passes with my Gillette Black Tip razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
