    Thanks Douglas!
    Insight?
Who knows...as dark as it is at that time of day I'm sure I missed a ton of spots.
Insight? Probably more like oversight! :happy102:

Vince, I am glad you are enjoying the C1. The Schick C razors are among my favorite safety razors. Thanks again for helping me get introduced to them!

Guess it is about time you had yours. Seems like there is another saying about teaching an old dog new tricks or something too. There must be some flaws in that one though.

Tabac immediately becomes a favorite for me! Similar to Mitchell's Wool Fat but that little bit of scent puts it above and beyond for me. Great post shave negating the need for balm.

I may finally be coming to grips with the Semogue. I've been squeezing more and more water out of it until it feels like I'm almost squeezing it dry. That worked today. I'll have to see how it does with another soap or two before I say for sure.

I've been working on a shallower angle with both Old Types and I'm getting that down for the most part. I will say that Old Types seem more angle specific than any other razor I own. For that reason I don't think they'll ever be a favorite for me. Plus I continue to think that loading and unloading blades is something of a hassle. I'd probably live with the hassle if I liked the shave better but as it is...

Tomorrow I break focus a little with the Slim I got from @RyX. Super excited about that both for the pretty new toy but also to get back to the TTO style head which is still far more familiar to me.

My favourite straight is up today, PRC western grind kamisori. I touched it up with Shapton 12k, Dovo green, red,CrOx. The edge felt both smooth, kind and sharp. The 4 passes went very smoothly and I really thought I nailed this shave. The alum gave some sting and I just missed the baby. I am not sure it it is residual irritation from yesterday so tomorrow I will do a DE shave. No picture so I am recycling a picture of the razor.

I am missing the B2 and B3, but I think I have everything else covered. Still need to shave with my B1 and C2, though.

So many razors, yet only one shave per day.

    Focus day 11

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Rapira Stainless (4)
    Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso White
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up (jaw and neck)

Efficient CCS shave this morning. There was a bit of tugging on my beck on the first pass. I think it was probably due to the lather drying a bit again because it didn't replicate during touch-up. I'm not sure if it had to do with the blade or not, but I don't think so. The Rapira blade has been a good performer all along.

I'm still going with the "less is more" approach as far as number of passes. I caught myself pressing a little too hard about halfway through the shave so I need to remind myself about pressure. However, my technique has definitely improved.

Tomorrow I'll be trying out a new-to-me Omega 10049 boar brush, courtesy of The Bargain PIF and @Marverel. I tried a few test lathers last night and - WOW - the amount of lather was quite prodigious. It'll be fun to give it a spin in an actual shave. Not sure of my soap choice yet though. I've thought about Arko, VDH luxury, MWF, a Soap Commander, or Maggards Tobacco and Leather. All of those are in a mug or a container that could withstand that large brush.

Hope you all have a great Thursday!
