This was a freeze to end all freezes - that Glacial Lemon Chill soap is serious business. Instead of my Turkish horsehair brush I used my new Omega 49 and it gave me a mountain of awesome, bitter-cold lather which felt so good. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and the Arctique aftershave both went on unbelieveably cold and nice. Another work of art of a shave!
Thanks. The brush is a silvertip and it's amazing! It's my best find. I won it on eBay for $1.74 plus $3.50 shipping!
Thank u my friend. Unfortunately this brush is currently on the auction block at the moment. I wanted one last shave before it sold.
Slim Adjustable set to 9 Dorco ST-301 Blade MDC face lathered 4 passes I had a little left over distilled water and used that this morning. It does make a difference. In fact, the shave was so nice I decided to add another pass. Excellent shave this morning.

1/13/2016 Tabac Thursday Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Merkur 39C, AJ Jordan Celebrated Hollow Ground straight razor Blade: Astra SP (6) Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair Soap: Tabac After: Home made ASB, Tabac after shave Cologne: Cuir Cannage Happy Thursday! The Tabac was whipped into a nice and thick lather by the Vie Long brush. This was the maiden voyage for the 39C. This is one big and heavy razor. I paired it with my favorite blade, an Astra SP. The Sledge Hammer and the Jordan did a fine job knocking down the stubble. The Tabac AS and the Cuir Cannage were a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave +. Have a blessed day!

Hello everyone. Today's shave (this time without the cat): - RazoRock Mudder Focker - Whipped Dog High Mountain Badger - Merkur Futur - Sputnik (#5) - Man Sunrise Orange Another nice, very close to BBS shave with my Futur set on 6. Just two passes XTG and ATG and a little touchup work. I really like how this razor shaves wide open. It is just as close as the R41, but smoother. On the other hand shaves with the R41 seem to last longer, but that can also be a disadvantage, since I want to shave every day The Aftershave smells just awful. And I mean really really awful. It was pretty good as long as it was still in the bottle, but on my skin it's just cheap, overwhelming, bothersome awfulness. Even washing my Face with apple scented soap did not help. Quite the opposite of Clubman that changed from meh to really nice from bottle to skin. Down the drain with that stuff. It was inexpensive, just over 2 bucks, so not a big loss.

This morning shave did not go as well as I had planned. The Valet gear was NOS and I pulled out one of the NOS blades which is in pristine condition, stropped 15X each side went to shave but trying different angles didn't seem to cut many hairs. Gave up the Valet and pulled out my Damaskeene which provided a 2 pass BBS shave. Don't know what I'm doing wrong with the Valet razor but after work today will do a video search to get an idea on how to use this razor. Going to try and strop on my Tony Miller strop and see if that makes a difference.
Maybe there's some useful information here: http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=2035 I am curious as I have yet to use mine.
