Frey's Day: Day 7 of my second set of blade trials Prep: Hot Shower, Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash Brush: @Jayaruh Cholula Travel Badger Lather: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Q-Ball Platinum Plus (1) Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3) Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails aftershave splash Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes I may have inadvertently fiddled with the intended order of blades to be tested by not double-checking my packing slip before loading up the RAKE, but today was another blade rarely discussed around these parts, the Q-Ball Platinum Plus. The shedding I had on first use of the Cholula Travel Badger was considerably less today than last time, though not entirely abated. That said, I was surprised to have to load the brush twice more to complete 3-passes, which I don't recall ever having to do with a badger brush or a GG soap before. I'll have to ponder that. Considering that lather issue, the blade was a revelation. The Q-Ball felt about as sharp as the Schick, but perfectly smooth. There was good tactile and audio feedback without any irritation of bloodshed whatsoever, resulting in a nearly BBS. Not only that, but post-shave feel (after the Cat o' Nine Tails "burn" abated) was the best of any of the blades thus far.

Razor: Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts) Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip 2014 Mug: Old Spice (Belgium Mug 01) 1970s Cream: Truefitt&Hill Grafton Blade: Feather (1) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1973 glass AS Stopper #4 The Goodwill shaves me like my LC and like the LC you have to watch the angles, for a smooth shave. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. The Silvertip is on of my favorite, because it is both very soft and has great backbone. It whipped up a nice lather in no time. Got a nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup and a shower, some JB balm. Finished up with some Vintage Old Spice from the 1973. The Spice is nice.... Makes me want to Dance!
