You know Charlie, purchasing the razor and then PIFing it to a needy person does not violate NB2016. Just saying'!
It's just a Filter effect, added in post-processing. The original picture looked a little boring and I thought the color scheme would match the Aftershave name "Sunrise Orange".
That's my "concern" with the R41. I had a really good BBS shave with it last week and touching my face 24 hours later I thought I could still rate that as the result of a CCS.
Straights Focus January 15: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Bay Rum SS Ralf Aust 5/8 Stirling Unscented PSB Stirling Bay Rum AS This morning's shave was a little different for me. I started intending to follow the same pattern as I have the past few days, two full passes, but breaking up the last pass into what I have taken to calling center field, right field, and left field. It has helped to keep my lather from drying out, and I have been getting pretty good results. I got my first pass in and lathered up my mustache, chin, and down through my Adam's Apple (center field), and did my second pass there. I spent a little time cleaning up my chin and Adam's Apple, and rinsed. While rinsing, I noticed the rest of my face just didn't seem to need much work. It certainly was BBS, but it was definitely better than SAS. So, I called it good. A little different than intended, but still a good shave this morning.
01/15/2016 Razor – Ikon B1 OC with Hempel Ti Blade – Feather (3) Brush – Olivewood with TGN Finest Fan Lather – SC Renewal Shave Stick Post - Witch Hazel followed by Myrsol F/Extra I decided to use the Ikon OC B1 today before continuing the comparison between the Cobra Classic and AlumiGoose. I just went with a traditional 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG, & ATG, doing touch ups in my trouble spots as I went. The shave was a near BBS which about as close as I get on work days but it was very comfortable. The Ikon is much less aggressive than either Cobra or AlumiGoose but is still very efficient. Finished up with a splash of Myrsol F/Extra and I am ready for a rainy traffic filled commute. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
Good morning TSD - RazoRock Mudder Focker - Whipped Dog 24mm Synthetic - Merkur Futur - Ladas - Tüff Red Aftershave Since I like sharp blades in mild razors I tried something else today: loaded a Ladas blade and set the Merkur to 1. Worked pretty much as expected: I needed three passes (WTG, XTG and ATG) for a BBS shave ... something I can achieve with 2 passes on settings 5 or 6. And I still think I like the Ladas least of the Russian bunch I tried (the others were Voskhod, GSB, Sputnik and Polsilver SI). My feeling is: they might be the sharpest, but at the same time the least gentle. Maybe because they lack the teflon coating of the other blades. I haven't used my WD synthetic brush for quite a while now ... it did a fantastic job with the RazoRock soap. Why do I even bother to use those boars and badgers? First time I used the red Tüff - I really like it. Pleasant scent that seems to last a while. Though the green Tüff might provide just a little more skincare. Have a great day
Continued focus: Gillette Tech Razor: Pre-war, triangle slot Tech Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Blue Brush: WD Silvertip Soap: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Been using my gold Fat Handle for about a week and have begun to enjoy the shave and the result. Still a bit more work than I like due to the mildness and my lack of talent. Today I switched to my triangle slot Pre-war Tech. While the feel is the same my impression is that this is slightly milder? 1 weeper for some unknown reason.

Thank you Doug. I at least survived the commute. My normal commute is bad enough but on a rainy morning it only gets worse. I look forward to retiring someday and not having the commute.
