  5. Good Morning folks, here's today's SOTD;

1940's English Gillette #44 set RFB New LC.
    1942 Gillette Blue Blade.
    Omega Travel Brush (Boar).
    1930's Colgate Shaving Soap Stick.
    Avon Mesmerize post shave conditioner.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

The #44 set RFB New LC lived up to its reputation as a fine, smooth, and efficient razor. The vintage blade was at its peak performance, and the old Colgate soap all performed magnificently. Everything came together this morning for a fantastic BBS shave in two passes. And I had a great time achieving it too. Here's the photo-

The 1930's Colgate Soap Stick is not shown in the photo. Sorry. Have a great day.

  8. *1st pass- '47 SS w '60s ASR stainless
*2nd pass- Red Tip w modern Wilk
    *Palmolive cream

    2 pass BBS.

The Palmolive seems to leave my face dryer and tighter than Arko, an all around better cream imo.

I have a meeting this morning that I have to dress up for. I think I'll wear some Veg because I want to be adjourned early.

  9. Oldest Soap
On this Ferox Friday I used the oldest soap I've had from new. I've had this jar since Spring 2014, and its down to the donut seen in the photo. I love the scent and performance - it is also my first Barrister & Mann. Today it performed as usual giving me a drama free smooth shave. I finished up with Krampert's Finest Frostbite for cool skin care, and found that it compliments Pi Neo very nicely.

    Prep: Shea Moisture Creme
    Soap: B&M Ferox
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: der Futur
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite
    EdT: Pi Neo

  18. Good morning TSD ;)

    1501 Kopie.jpg

    - RazoRock Mudder Focker
    - Whipped Dog 24mm Synthetic
    - Merkur Futur
    - Ladas
    - Tüff Red Aftershave

Since I like sharp blades in mild razors I tried something else today: loaded a Ladas blade and set the Merkur to 1.

Worked pretty much as expected: I needed three passes (WTG, XTG and ATG) for a BBS shave ... something I can achieve with 2 passes on settings 5 or 6. And I still think I like the Ladas least of the Russian bunch I tried (the others were Voskhod, GSB, Sputnik and Polsilver SI). My feeling is: they might be the sharpest, but at the same time the least gentle. Maybe because they lack the teflon coating of the other blades.

I haven't used my WD synthetic brush for quite a while now ... it did a fantastic job with the RazoRock soap. Why do I even bother to use those boars and badgers? ;)

First time I used the red Tüff - I really like it. Pleasant scent that seems to last a while. Though the green Tüff might provide just a little more skincare.

    Have a great day :happy088:
