    Straights Focus January 16:

    Homemade PS Oil
    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Electric Sheep SS
    Ralf Aust 5/8
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill
    Florida Water AS

It was just a great shave this morning. My son joined me, and I got a nice DFS+ in on two passes. I had just a little irritation on my neck, where I let the angle get a little steep on the second pass, but all is better now. I planned on using the Glacial Lemon Chill AS, but saw the lonely bottle of Florida Water staring at me, so I put some on top just finish everything up nicely. Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

  3. That's classic YMMV.

Just a note regarding the product history. According to Italian Barber, the formula for this specific RR product was changed in 2014 due to users with sensitive skin complaining about the very thing Kerry and Chris mentioned.

Also, I find Cella to be somewhat similar in scent, slightly sweeter and the P.160 a bit more subtle after the shave.

    YMMV :)

  4. Thank you! Sometimes I get lucky.
  5. Thanks Clint. From your reviews of both razors, I thought that might be the case. I'm glad you have them both. :)

  7. Super day! Try judging your shaves 12 hours after the fact. It's the true test!

  8. It's OK to squeal a little, it's pretty cool!
  9. And if forced to choose between lucky and good, I always hope for lucky!
  10. Good info!

Edit: YSMV "your sensitivities may vary"
  11. It was not part of the focus but I think I will use the Mongoose some of the last week of the month for a better and more complete comparison. I am just more familiar with it than the AlumiGoose. Both the Cobra and AlumiGoose provide exceptionally long lasting shaves. Of the razors I own only my Gem SE razors come close to providing such long lasting shaves.

  15. I believe if I bought one as a gift for you, that wouldn't violate the letter of NB16, but then you'd be obligated to send me one. ;)

I had forgotten that hair and nails slow down in winter! There is hope for us! Who would have thought we would become "too good" at this traditional shaving stuff?

  19. The last thing I want to become an expert in is shaving. Not with the shaving gear I have. No. No. No.
