Jan 17 Focus Shave 13
Breeding pet rocks has been a success but I think there was some genetic engineering involved. I now have a Shapton glass stone 16k. So I refreshed 3 razors with the new stone and I was feeling cocky and decided to use my scariest razor, a Robert Williams Purist. This razor scares me more than a shavette. In the past I always shed allot of blood.
I refreshed the Purist following a routine I learned from @
entropy1049, using a pyramid starting with a Shapton 12k ceramic and finishing with a Shapton 16k glass stone. Then out of caution I used a pasted strop with Dove red/black. I then stropped on linen then leather.
In the past the sharp point and heal bit me every time so today was a big test for me. Three passes and no blood, my fourth pass ATG on my neck is very tricky and given the aggressive point on this razor I decided to quit while I was still ahead. The blade felt very smooth, sharp but not super sharp. No blood and the alum test gave just a little feedback. I did not do a 4th pass so I had to be satisfied with DFS.
I feel this was a test of how far my straight skills have come. I have not shaved with this razor for four month because of the blood it draws.
