I'm with you on the Feather blades. They just make my shaves easier, with just the weight of the razor doing the work. I have most of the Gillette Adjustables and they shave great for me on 5 and 3. I'm still playing with the Futur and have it currently on 1.5, which gives me a great shave. I may move it to 2, just to check it out, but I agree they shave as good as the Gillettes.:eatdrink013:

I may have cracked the code!

Apologies for being offline for a couple of weeks now...life and stuff.
So, the Hone 15 has been a fun learning curve for me. As I may have mentioned before, this is about as mild as I've experienced...so much so, that I was having a tough time getting certain parts of my face/neck to the BBS I was getting elsewhere. Well, I think I cracked the code! Feather blades. It was that simple. Not only does this tame the Japanese monster, but seems to love being mated up with it. First (full) BBS in a few weeks!

    Pre: shower/Noxema/Proraso white PSC
    Soap: The Holy Black
    Razor: Hone Type 15
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post: cold towel/Lucky Tiger/The Holy Black AS

    Have a great day, all!!

Tuesday was my first shave with the Futur. Used a Polsilver blade and was left clean and smooth. Nice razor! Back to the grind, have a great day everyone!

    TABAC Tuesday
    January 19, 2016
Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost
Razor: Mongoose B3 Dr. Bomber Handle
    Blade: Feather Professional
    Lather: TABAC
    Brush: Semogue 610
Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate
    Aftershave: TABAC
It's been awhile since I've used TABAC and the Mongoose, TABAC is an acquired scent, but no mistaking the quality of the soap. Mongoose just does it with ease. I need to use the Semogue 610 a lot more.

Reef Point Peerless today. 20 seconds to load the E-R Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. 7 O’Clock Blue in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Burberry London.

Thanks for the compliment. It was "tuned-up" before I purchased it, but not restored. The condition is pretty nice. It would be nice to have a clean plastic case and the original instructions too, but those items are like gold. :angry019:. Started on 5 and raised it to 7 for the final 2/3 of the shave. Especially with such a lather like you get from Tabac, which tends to be thick, 5's gap isn't wide enough (for me).

I may be one of the few that like Tabac's new label design. Had the same experience with Tabac. They should produce an unscented, or lightly-scented version.
