You know they don't cost all that much so when you finish with your sabbatical you might want to give it a try. I'm pretty happy, any razor that does BBS on the first shave works for me! Plus it is very different from anything else I have! After I use it a bit I'll send it over and you can see what you think.

SHAVE OF the day Prep: shower/ musgo real classic Razor: 1953 Gillette tech Blade: Gillette nacet (5th shave) Brush: RazoRock plissoft Soap: Maggard Tobacco & leather Post: Reef Point Dragons Blood Balm Had a great 2 pass shave today. The Maggard soap make a great lather and has one of the best leather soap scents I have come across. The shave went well, and the slickness from the soap added to the end result. Finished off with Dragons Blood balm. Reef Point make one of my favorite balms. They have a nice menthol cooling effect and a list of other good sKincare properties. Very good stuff. Hope every one had a great shave!
Thank u my friend! Thanks! Toby's work to me is top notch. Currently they r all I'm using. Best bang for the buck in my opinion right now.
Wednesday's Dove Men Face Wash Proraso Green Shaving Soap Jayaruh #37 Synthetic Eversharp-Schick G1 Personna CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #37 Synthetic brush. Two passes with my Eversharp-Schick G1 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Less of a freeze for Wednesday morning: Stirling Pre-Shave Soap Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Astra day 3 Mickey Lee Paradise Frost SS Folsom & Company Shambala AS Our damned weather has become brutally cold with strong winds and quite a bit of snow so I'll be skimping on the menthol, at least for this shave. This Paradise Frost soap smells absolutely gorgeous and its lather is very easy to work up. The menthol effect is scanty, but it's still there and so is the skincare. The Shambala aftershave's scent is also lovely, it has great longevity, and there's also quite a bit of menthol cooling to this stuff - these two products are both from Italian Barber and I'm so happy I bought them. How can I forget my Stirling pre-shave soap which cleans and prepares my skin so well?

Despite the call of some alluring injectors I continued with my run of non-injector SEs. One of my favorites has been the French Louis hoe. It had been way too long. Cutting to the chase, the result was baby smooth skin. But something was off. It felt like a rough shave and the alum block was screaming at me. Maybe it was the new blade, maybe it was that it is a different razor on 2+ days of growth, maybe the lather wasn't up to snuff, maybe I was going with too much angle too often. Whatever it was, it was not fun - despite the fantastic reduction and result. C'est la vie!
