We haven't been to Universal in like 15 years. Sounds like we should go see the Harry Potter World next time we're in Florida.
You may be on if the lucky ones... Many people find that the skin tightens and toughens through using any single blade setup. My skin transformed for the better about four months after DE conversion.
Good morning TSD My shave today: - Stirling Preshave soap - RazoRock Mudder Focker - WD High Mountain Badger - Merkur Futur on 6 - Feather (#2) - Tüff sensitiv/Jeris Musk Not the best shave today, maybe Futur on 6 in combination with Feather blades is not the brightest idea... No blood or anything, but the skin feels a little tense and irritated after the shave. And I think I did not create the best lather this morning ... might have been a little thin. The usual two passes WTG and A/XTG, a little bit of touchup at the right jawline. Face is completely BBS, the neck I'd rate DFS+ Finished with cold water rinse, one splash of Tüff for the skincare and a splash of Jeris Musk for the scent (pretty pleasant actually). Either I'll change the blade tomorrow or I'll dial back to 4
I first voted for synthetic, but now...this week...I'm digging my badgers. Last week I was loving my boar. Schitzo?
Straights Focus January 20: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Cocoa Forest Frederick's Celebrated Razor Stirling Unscented PSB Clubman Vanilla AS Today's shave was not quite as good as the past couple. I still managed a one pass shave with acceptable results, but I am not quite as smooth as I managed the past couple of days. I just need to keep working on my technique to get more consistent.
01/20/2016 Razor – Cobra Classic Blade – Kai Mild (5) Brush – Brothers Bristles with Sunrise Synthetic Lather – Soap Commander Renewal Shave Stick Post - Witch Hazel followed by Fine L’Orange A great near BBS work morning 3 pass shave this morning. I will say that the Kai Mild blade performance falls off more quickly than the Feathers. I am pleased to get good shaves with the Kai Mild blades which will allow me to use up my remaining inventory. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
I hope everyone is well. I’ve been back from our trip to Orlando for over a day and I still haven’t been able to catch up on the posts. Had 400 to read when I first looked Monday night, read a bunch but still have more than 300 to go. This is indeed a fast moving group. Here's a peek at the shaves I had while on the trip. Jan 14 - morning we left, wanted to get through Atlanta before rush hour started, so went with what was in the razor. Phoenix Double OC Rapira Super Stainless (4) Frank Shaving Pur-tech Synthetic brush C.O. Bigelow cream Pinaud Clubman Original Face Lather, 2 pass DFS++ Jan 15, 16, and 17 Same gear as the 14th, but now with a Gillette Silver Blue. Same routine each day: face lather, 2 pass DFS++ from the Gillette Silver Blue in the DOC. Throughout our trip I kept touch up to a bare minimum. I was blessed with nice, smooth, automatic shaves without any irritation. Edit: I forgot to post a picture of my travel kit:
1/19/16 Phoenix Double OC Gillette Silver Blue (1) Vulfix Super Badger (660) Mitchell's Wool Fat Georgetown G12 Scuttle Pinaud Clubman Original I skipped shaving on Monday morning since we were getting on the road to come back to Atlanta. First shave after vacation, and back to my Scuttle, MWF, and the Super Badger brush. Nice near BBS with no irritation. Could have had the BBS, just decided to not bother. Only one spot on my neck was giving me trouble, and I decided it wasn't worth worrying about.
Wednesday, January 20, 2016 Pre: Hot Shower, Cold Rinse, Pre-Shave Butter Soap: MDC Fougere Brush: Simpson Commodore X3 Best Razor: King Cobra with Triad Ti Blade: Kai Captain Mild #4 Post: Witch Hazel +Menthol, Post Shave Toner, Fine Fresh Vetiver Today's shave was 2 passes and clean up. Closeness A+ and irritation A. This is my go to razor for extremely close shaves. Kai Mild is still smooth and comfortable. My Commodore has been neglected lately, but cranked out some thick creamy MDC lather. The Chatillon Lux toner was extra soothing today. Topped it off with Fine Fresh Vetiver. Hope all are enjoying a wicked Wednesday.
Great photo. Are you using the little photo booth? Also, I didn't realize you had such a good looking Simpson Commodore brush.
Planned shave Williams Mug Soap Semogue 1438 Our Leader 5/8 Axe shield Lets see if my luck holds out with Williams. I had a very nice straight shave with canned gel lather yesterday. Williams should be better.
Thanks for the kind words Clint. Yes, the little photo box is working great, now that I have a top light. The Commodore was my first Simpson brush.
I am using my little photo box with side lights only. Depending on the razor and brush many times I will leave the top off of the booth. I find the top makes a big difference in cutting down reflections.
Yes, I find that SR shaves last longer than DE shaves, provide the SR is keen and smooth. Pre-wetshaving, I would mow the stubble (WTG) every day to get a SAS, but wouldn't do ATG unless there was a special occasion. Even if I did, I would still need to shave the following day. I rocked the stubble look for a long time, until I grew out my beard. With a good shave, I still have an SAS 24 hours after, and start to get a 5 o'clock shadow about 36 hours after.
