  4. Odin's Day: Day 10 of my second set of blade trials
Prep: Hot Shower, Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
    Brush: Omega #11575
    Lather: Speick stick
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Crystal (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Speick aftershave splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Another day, another new-to-me blade. The #11575 worked up decent lather with the Speick stick that was plenty slick, if not terrifically cushiony. The Crystal immediately felt harsher to my face than the Q-ball had the previous three shaves, though it was amply sharp and not really tugging. Three passes got me nearly BBS bloodless results, but with a fair amount of irritation to go with it. Initial impressions are that the Crystal shaves, for me, much like the Shark Chrome Platinum. We'll see how it does tomorrow in the 41c.

  7. SOTD 1/19/16
Prep: Hot shower/ Dove Men's Face Scrub
    Pre-Shave: PAA Ice
    Soap: Barrister & Mann Seville
    Brush: Semogue OC Badger
Razor/ Blade: Gillette Slim Adjustable (pass around from @youngunn )/ Personna Lab Blue (1)
    Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: Nivea Sensitive Cooling Balm
Aftershave Splash: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

First time using a Gillette Slim Adjustable and it worked very well. I will discuss my thoughts on the thread youngunn started earlier. Overall though it worked great. I really don't think the PAA Ice pre shave soap adds anything to the shave. The only reason I continue to use it is simply because I paid for it and am going to use it up. I am not a big fan of pre-shaves in general, however I do like the Proraso white because I feel like it adds good slickness to the shave. This PAA stuff doesn't work and doesn't add anything, basically just a bar soap to clean your face is the best it can be. Barrister & Mann Seville scent is fantastic, with lots of lemon and rosemary detectable. I really enjoy the scent and the lather was great. I added in lots of water because it is B&M but overall worked very well. Everything else worked well as it should. I really don't like shaving in a dorm bathroom, though. I find myself constantly rushing to get out, versus when I'm at home I can enjoy and take my time. Oh well, not much I can do haha. Hope everyone has a good day.

  12. Secret Shave
    Walmart canned lather
    Schick J1
    Gillette after shave gel
    Small finger bowl

Hot water soak, Apply Secret shave(2 min wait), lather-up, 1st pass Across right cheek to the ear, WTG the rest of the way to the apple, with an occasional ATG stroke behind the jaw bone and up next to ear. Do the same on the left side. 2nd Pass is real thin lather and my J1 Loves to do " wheelies" all over the place..... That cleans up 99% of everything else. Outcome: somewhere between a DFS and a BBS. 3rd day on blade. Feels as smooth as 1st day.

  14. image.jpeg Ahoy, Matey! The Captain is taking the "Black Pearl" for a sail today as I channel Captain Jack Sparrow, reminiscing of warm weather and sailing adventures.
Razor: Gillette 85 Super Adjustable "Black Beauty” (p2) 1970 named “The Black Pearl”
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: TOBS Grapefruit cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1983 Porcelain Sail Boat

I set sail for two weeks on a sail dive trip, back in time, and dove in the Bermuda Triangle. Actually saw some strange bioluminescence creatures on a night dive. We had a well respected marine biologist with us, and he had no clue! Blimey!

Setting sail with the Pearl as I whipped up the TOBS in my favorite mug and off we go, bucko. The Pearl gives a nice shave, and I'm just addicted to the Gillette Adjustables. WTG XTG on my face an neck on 5 ATG on my neck on 3. After a splash of WH, and some Jack Black (a good friend of the Captain) balm. Shiver me timbers, that was a nice shave. The Admerial (my bride) and I can't wait for our next sail, so avast me matey, weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen! Yo Ho Ho!

  15. Hump Day Wednesday! The Futur delivered another effortless shave this morning, BBS after 2 passes. I like this razor! Have a great day everyone! image.jpeg
