The hard, cold facts of wetshaving! Thursday morning: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Astra day 4 OSP Grapefruit Menthol SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Obsession for Men EdT Here's a setup for an icy-cold shave which a menthol monkey would look forward to. This OSP Grapefruit Menthol soap smells deliciously refreshing from its citrusy/menthol scent, it lathers like a maniac, and a few seconds after your brush makes contact with your face the freeze jumps on you, yet this soap is so skin-friendly. The Gold Bond moisturizer really makes a wonderful aftershave balm and it's hard to beat the Rubby Dubby Doo for its own special frigidness which I love so much. What fantastic performance these Astras give me!
it's quite possible that in that same speech, Dr. King said "Once more we are forced to see that violence and hatred are the attributes of a sick society"(I heard this part from the " I Can Hear It Now" series covering the 60's).

I would have to say that if I want to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge, forget the ice-just use Osage!!! (My presumption anyway, as I have yet to use it). But I do want to do an Ice-Bucket challenge).
SOTD January 21, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Rapira Stainless (3) Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic Lather: Proraso White shaving soap Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG, minor touch-up I had a little more time this morning than most so I was able to do a little more with XTG. Nice results; very smooth CCS. I've been using a little more water with the Proraso, which has helped, as well as bearing down on the brush a little more during loading and during face lathering. I really pushed down today and splayed the bristles out when face lathering. It certainly made a difference - I got loads of lather! Each brush is different and I'm determining that this one can be used pretty aggressively. Hope you all have a great day!
Hello folks, tonight's SOTD is as follows; 1920's Gillette Empire Pocket Edition Ball End Old Type. Polsilver Super Iridium blade. Simpsons Wee Scot badger brush. WSP Rustic Shave Soaps (Barbershop) soap. Proraso Blue post shave balm. Bulgari Extreme cologne. The often overlooked model 102A Ball End Old Type is certainly a fine shave tool. A lot of people say they aren't as efficient as a model 102 Old Type, but I think they are. They are not as aggressive, but are as effective as a pre-1921 Old Type. I managed a two pass BBS with this razor. Here's the photo- Sleep well everyone!

Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Jumping Juniper shampoo cake from Lush Soap/cream- Cyril R Salter Wild Rose Brush- Proraso boar Razor- WEBER Polished head stainless steel Blade- Personna(4) Post- Cold water rinse, Humphrey Witch hazel, Mentholated Pinaud Clubman Original and Nivea Original aftershave balm Very nice shave today. The Wild rose scent is pretty strong but I like that about it. Good performance and easy to whip up. Bowl lathered today just to be able to see how the lather builds and cut back on the time face lathering as the boar brush is not fully broken in yet, its soft dont get me wrong. I just haven’t used this cream for a while and didn’t know how long it would take to get the lather where i wanted it. FIRST TIME EVER using a DE blade 4 times. I feel like my technique has gotten a lot better and Im confident in trying to see how many shaves I can get from a blade. I got a very nice shave, I think the blade could do 1 or 2 more shaves BUT I did feel it has decreased in sharpness enough for me to bin it. 4 shaves from 1 DE blade when I usually only do 2. Thats a whole lot more shaves from my remaining Personna lab blue HEHE! As you can see this Proraso brush Whipped up a whooole lot of lather =P
