  4. Good morning TSD :)

My shave today ... similar setup as yesterday except for the brush:

    - RazoRock Mudder Focker
    - SOC badger
    - Merkur Futur on 2.5
    - Feather blade (#2)
    - Speick After shave lotion

    futur.jpg

Dialed down from 6 to 2.5 this was a much better shave than yesterday's. Slicker lather, better overall "flow", no irritation.

I still haven't made up my mind which of my two 2-band badgers is the better one. The SOC seems to produce and hold a little more lather than the Whipped Dog, but at the same time "clings to it" more, as if it doesn't want to spread the lather on my face but rather keep it for itself ;) Love both their handle shapes, even though they look very different. Well, I guess I'll just enjoy them in turns.

Again the usual two passes today, WTG and A/XTG. A little touchup at the usual spots, though I might have overshaved a little under my chin ... the Aftershave burned there quite a bit today. Other than that the face felt great after the shave. Pretty much BBS, so a very good shave overall.

Anyways, I still think the Feather might not be the optimal blade choice for the Futur. I've had better shaves with the Polsilver and especially the Sputnik. The last few days of this week I will use a GSB and transfer that blade to the Progress on monday to have a fair comparison.

    Have a great day :happy088:

    Frederick's Celebrated Razor
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Fine Fresh Vetiver

I had a nice shave this morning. It was a single pass CCS. Much like @Bama Samurai, I set the razor down wrong and ended up with a little red line. I didn't realize it until I was rinse off. The alum was nice and quite, and I am off to work. Have a great Thursday.

    Lather – Tiki Cabernet Neroli
Post - Witch Hazel followed by Folsom & Company Shambala

Another great 3 pass work morning shaving. With very minor touch ups, I ended up with my usual near BBS. The Brothers Bristles brush whipped up the Tiki Cabernet Neroli into a rich slick lather. Thanks again Paul, @Tdmsu for making me such a nice handle. Finished up with a splash of F&C Shambala. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Pre: Hot Shower, Cold Rinse, Proraso Pre-Shave
Soap: MDC Barrister and Mann Seville
    Brush: The Varlet Orion
    Razor: One Blade
    Blade: FHS-10 #2
Post: Alum, Witch Hazel +Menthol, Whipped Shea Butter, Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber

Today's shave was two passes +clean up. The Feather FHS-10 started tugging halfway through the first pass. I changed to a despined GEM blade for the second pass. It was very smooth. Closeness A- and irritation A+. Orion is a lather monster. Seville is a top performer with a great scent. Finished with a splash of Ghost Town barber. Have a terrific Thursday all!

17th consecutive shave with my Blackbird. It's not gotten any better because it would be hard to. Every shave has been 2 simple passes and the results are near BBS. I may have found my One Razor.

  18. Focus - Soaps
Today's soap was Dr.John's Gold Label. I am liking Dr. John soaps. They lather easily and provide a nice cushion. They don't surpass the Route 66 soap, but will definitely stay in the rotation.

I recently got a sample pack from Mason Boutique and wanted to give one a shot. Keeping everything else the same, just different soap. [IMG]
