Thor's Day: Day 11 of my second round of blade trials Prep: Hot Shower, Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash Brush: @Jayaruh Cholula Travel Badger Lather: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss soap Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Crystal (2) Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (4, 5, 6) Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails aftershave splash Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes Day 2 with the Crystal had some good, and some bad. The good: in the 41c and with a day's use under its metaphorical belt, the Crystal was smoother today. I came as close to BBS as I get without an ATG pass. The bad: 'smoother' does not mean 'irritation-free,' and came with a small weeper on my throat. Additionally, I needed to reload the brush twice to get sufficient lather to complete 3 passes, for some reason.
Doug This brush still has badger odor; could be compared to a cat o' nine tails and is floppier than Rubber Man. My face is just as smooth afterwards and I have the extra pleasure of the son-to-father connection.
SHAVE OF THE DAY Prep: shower with RazoRock son of Zeus PRE shave: Occams crushed lime Razor: 1953 Gillette Tech Blade: Gillette nacet (6th shave) Brush: Ever ready 600 Soap: Derby shaving soap Post: MLS ITALIAN STALLION I wasn't planning on shaving this evening, but I found this Derby soap in the back of the den. I haven't used it in a while so I figured I would. The scent may be a bit stronger than Arko, but other than that it seems to be the same soap. Nice thick lather, and the scent doesn't bother me at all. The Nacet needs to be changed soon. Finished the shave with Italian Stallion. MLS aftershaves have an impressive ingredient list, but I decided to add some menthol to make a great aftershave even better. Hope everyone had a great shave!
Thanks for the kind attention. BTW your 1953 tech is the year I graduated from high school.... it`s beautiful! Bill
I wanted to really like Executive Man. Burnt the heck out of my face. Funny, Sharp Dressed Man had no negative effects.
Douglas. I like to remind my friends here at The Den that the brush was a gift from my son, along with the Col. Conk. So, it's a doubly nice set up.
