Friday's Dove Men Face Wash Razorock Classic Shaving Soap Jayaruh #40 Black Badger AutoStrop VB1 Feather SE CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue The Razorock Classic Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #40 Black Badger brush. Two passes with my Valet AutoStrop razor and a Feather SS blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
January 22 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed (Z3) Feather (3) Kent BK8 silvertip badger Route 66 Lumberjack Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Floid Vigoroso I enjoy using this set up, but I'm about ready to move on. I've experimented quite a bit this month on my lower neck. I can tolerate ATG more than I thought. I can also use some careful blade buffing and j-hooking for even better results. I'm starting to try some Gillette slide strokes on my cheeks. I'm doing all this to get the best possible shave in two passes with minimal touch-ups. I've switched up my soaps, creams, and aftershaves more than I usually do. I'm on a Floid Vigoroso kick this week. I detect powder and menthol notes in it, and it has decent longevity for an AS. My February focus will either include my Weber PH or my Mongoose. Hopefully, I'll receive my PRC straight razor soon. If so, I plan to use it on the weekends when I have more time. We're expecting 4" of snow tonight, so winter has finally arrived. Stay warm, and have great shaves!
Roby, thanks for the kind words about the Kent brush. This one is the BK8, and I also have the smaller BK4. James Bond uses the larger BLK12 in Skyfall, so I figure Kent brushes are good enough for me. I like the shape and feel of the knot, but it is a bit floppy compared to my other brushes.
For my Friday Freeze: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Astra day 5 Tcheon Fung Sing Sottozero SS Diana Sport Menthol Balm Fine Snake Bite AS Obsession for Men EdT I'm in love with this Sottozero soap which I received earlier this week - it's already my second shave with it coming up. It smells so minty/mentholy and nice, it's a pleasure to lather up with, and the menthol effect beats its "Paesano" which is Proraso Green. It also gives a good post-shave feeling. The Diana balm is unscented and it can freeze a man's face to smithereens while giving lots of moisturizing. I advise only those who can handle intense menthol to use this Snake Bite aftershave because it feels just as cold, or even colder than the Diana balm and it's also unscented. To all, a great weekend in advance!

SOTD January 22, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Rapira stainless Razor: Wet Shave Club Lather: C.O. Bigelow cream Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Quick travel shave today. I'm at a work conference out of town. I hand-lathered the Bigelow but used a little too much water. It was a little thin but still got the job done. I really like the Bigelow cream. I'm looking forward to trying Proraso green soap and compare it to this cream. Have a great Friday!
