Yes they do - Semogues are pretty soft right from the start but become quite a bit softer and hold more lather after a dozen or so shaves. To my experience the Semogues bloom more than the Omegas do ... haven't figured out why. Omega brushes keep their shape more ore less while Semogues look like this after a while

If you like the Feather blades, then go ahead and use those for a 30 Day Rule. The idea behind the rule is to let your technique develop without letting variation in your equipment be a cause for a good shave today and a bad one tomorrow. If the Feathers work and are comfortable, then go for it.

I am glad you are feeling better. Taking things slow and easy for the next few days should help.

A nice one pass shave this morning. Maybe a little rougher on my neck than some days, so I am going to call it a SAS. It was nice and comfortable, though, as I have no irritation. Tomorrow, I plan on doing a two pass shave. Have a great Friday.

A great shave this morning to end the work week, 3 pass with no touch ups ending in a near BBS. The SC Passion in shave stick form is very easy to use and much easier to keep in the sink drawer than the big tub. Finished up with a splash of Fine Platinum. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

Probably because the Plisson is soft, a lather monster and dries in minutes.

I use this portable photo cube for many of my SOTD photos. I just set it up on the home office desk.

Thanks for all the warm welcome everyone! I decided I am happy enough with the current setup I will ride it through the end of February, or until I run out of these blades, whichever comes first, then try a few other blades in my sample pack.

This is really just a touch up from yesterday evening. I had been shaving at night to give me more time, but I can get it done in the morning now without rushing.

Still don't think I make a great lather yet, but I'm getting better at it. Its usable though. Three passes and touch up, only a couple small patches short of perfect BBS. Very slight irritation. Probably none if I wasn't chasing perfect.

Razor: Gillette Super Speed 1953 Y2

Aftershave: Route 66 The Black Pearl
The Black Pearl. Wife approved. Lovely floral, woodsy mellow scent. Just a right blend of everything, nothing is overwhelming. The Black Pearl aftershave lotion is very soothing. I'll shave my head later with the same soap/aftershave. Great shave. I noticed that the silo doors weren't opening as smoothly as they had in the past with this SS, did someone touch it? What's going on? So I took the blade out, still not silky smooth, so I dipped my razor in rubbing alcohol, open/close, smooth as silk. What's up? Hmmm..I looked at the Perma-Sharp Super blade and it hits me! The glue dots are holding back the silo doors. I normally don't use blades with glue dots, Personna Lab Blue and Ladas don't have them.

JR, when you get some free time I'd suggest you practice building a nice lather. You can use your hand or a mug or bowl, don't worry about using up all of your soap you won't. Also overload your brush, load it like it owes you money. It's great having you here!
