How is the break-in on those Jobeys? It's amazing to me how pipes can differ in break-in, some requiring a good bit of break-in while others are good to go from the start.
Easy break in on Jobey. The first bowl was fine. I just tend to put down cake in new pipes with OGS, regardless of the ultimate tobacco purpose, because OGS lays cake easily and also burns evenly. I could just declare this one to be broken in! This one is likely to be dedicated to straight VA or milder VaPer due to the bowl shape. It's not really wide enough for aged Burley or American Burley ribbons. Burley needs more air to burn properly, at least in my practice and experience.
Late night insomnia pipe. Next to last flake in the current tin of OGS. Folded and stuffed earlier today into the reliable Kaywoodie. I know I extoll virtues of OGS constantly, but when I don't know what smoke, it never ever ever disappoints. It's almost tobacco order time, and sleeves of five tins run $35, and I plan on putting a sleeve away for a year of aging. For science...
Smoker's Pride Mellow Taste in a corncob on a windy day. An inexpensive mild burley/virginia blend that burned well.
Meerschaum church warden. This is only the second smoke with this pipe. I guess I bought it so I try a meerschaum and a church warden.
I haven't smoked in awhile. We have single digit temps and a foot of snow. I'm not willing to spend a hour in it for a pipe.
