SOTD January 23, 2016 Noxema Preshave cream British Flare Tip Rocket (S Stamped) / Gillette 7 o'clock Proraso Omega / Cella WH / shea butter / Proraso Blue ASB Today was my "Wildcard" shave. I chose my mint condition British Flare Tip Rocket ("S" stamped...still don't now what that means...any ideas?). The British rocket paired with a Gillette 7'o'clock blade made for a wonderful smooth shave. I also used my Proraso Omega boar brush...a big, boar brush, but really nice to use. And of course Cella...and who can blame me...a great Italian soap. Have a great weekend gents (and ladies)!

Tabac Lavanille sind wunderbar Wonderful shave today. These two scents go well together. Tabac provided ample lather for my Aristocrat to mow down my stubble in three drama free passes. Lavanille Tonique stung a little more than it usually does when I use my Futur, but not bad at all. My face is left smooth and smelling great. Prep: PAA Ice Soap: Tabac Brush: HIS Razor: 1948 Gillette Aristocrat Blade: Voskhod (2) AS: B&M Lavanille Tonique

today hot water wash with nivea men's face wash and a washcloth Parker pure badger Route 66 Bourbon Jungle Dirty Bird scuttle Clauss 5/8 full hollow squared end Route 66 aftershave test today's shave was both great and a learning experience. first run with the dirty bird. lather was tremendous. I bloomed the soap with a little water. washed my face, the poured the bit of water on the bird. I loaded my Parker and made lather in the bowl. the resulting lather was certainly much warmer. like putting your hand in a warm pocket on a wet winter day. I made three passes with the Clauss enjoying the warmth. I think the warmth may have softened my face a little more than I'm used to. I actually got a weeper under my chin from overshaving. definitely comfortable while doing, time will tell how comfy in the long run. finished with the jungle balm. Kt I think you have a hit with this formula. soothing but with a warm buzz, and as always smelling great. hope y'all did as well, or better.

My maiden voyage with the famous Gillette Superspeed which I bought from a kind member. It had been lovingly cared for by its previous two owners. Wow, what a shave! Incredible!
SHAVE OF the day Prep: Musgo Real Oakmoss Razor: Gillette ball end tech Blade: Derby (1st use) Brush: RazoRock plissoft Soap: Ginger's Garden Havana Cognac Post: Osage Rub/T&H Lime Balm 2 pass shave this morning. Decided to revisit the Derby blades. I tried them when I first started, but couldn't remember how they were. Well the shave went well, I wouldn't say they are the sharpest blade, but not as terrible as I was lead to believe. The Havana Cognac soap has a wonderful scent and Ginger's Garden makes great stuff. I plan on trying the tallow version once I use up some of the soaps in the den. This one is the glycerin version, but it produced a thick lather and made for a nice shave. Finished off with T&H West Indian Limes Balm which was the last of the sample. Hope everyone has a great shave!
Osage Rub is a must try if you like menthol. It doesn't have much of a scent, but the menthol blast can even be added to aftershave. The bottle is 14oz so it will last a very long time.
6/8 SHB-OVB Tabac SC Thater brush This is a nice shaving razor, double jimped and takes a fine edge. The Thater's a good brush but I'll probably tweak it a little at some point. If the coin falls out of the bottom of the handle it's fair game. I'm not a big Tabac soap fan but I love the cream and this mornings shave was a enjoyable experience. It's got one of those scents that if you were a dog you'd roll in it. Good stuff. Have a good one.
