    Focus day 22

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso White
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Efficient CCS this morning. I had less than 24 hours of beard growth so I didn't need a whole lot to take care of that. The Proraso White is a great soap that continues to perform well. I have also started being much more aggressive with the Satin Tip brush when loading and lathering. I'm pushing down more to get to the base and I've created some amazing lathers with that process.

Hope you all have a great start to your week!

  3. I enjoyed my daily shave after lunch today. In the name of science and because of a recent post by Tom, I performed my second pass with the latest manly man's cartridge razor by Gillette. I essentially repeated my first pass using my SS...WTG on my cheeks and ATG on my neck. It was a very mild shaver. I'd need 4 passes with it to match the Super Speed loaded with a Feather blade. It would do in a pinch, but that's about it. :p

  8. Thank you, Jim. I'm a learner taking baby steps at best. I think your photos are great as well, both in terms of quality and composition. Point and shoot digitals and iPhone cameras can generate some wonderful photos. I only have the DSLR because we redeemed some credit card points. :)

Using my favourite straight for the fourth time since it was touched up a Shapton 12k, Dovo green/red paste followed with CrOx.

The blade was feeling a little 'tuggy' and not as sharp or smooth as usual. I was running a little late which lead to an operator error and small cut on the fourth pass. I was expecting a poor shave with irritation but the alum was not as bad as expected but there was some stinging. A solid DFS. This razor needs to at least hit the pasted strop before the next shave.
