  3. Happy birthday. It's great how a nice coffee and a smile from the wife can start a day off so well. So simple but one of lifes pleasures. Have a good one mate

  6. I hope you were aware of the cartel recruitment process, unlike me.

  7. I only use it in the morning. I have found that if I use the right amount it's fully absorbed by the time I get to work. I agree I am not a fan of the scent which is why I went with a light lavender citrus scent which dissipates fairly quickly. I have found that it seems to make the AS scent last longer.

  8. I was not, in fact! I just started talking about blades and mentioned a couple of brands and then I started getting replies about the cartel and how I was so malleable to their plans. It was pretty funny. I got a sampler pack from tryablade and didn't know that most of them were Russian. Oh well. We were both just nabbed from the street of blade ignorance!

  10. It's very similar to a recruitment technique the British navy used way back, that resulted in tankards having glass bottoms.

  13. Glad you are having great shaves! I don't see a problem with mixing up the scents, so long as they perform equally well.

  14. I like it! Gonna use some Pinaud Citrus Musk myself today!
  15. Thank you, Chris.
  16. Happy birthday! Hope it is a great one!
  17. This 1924 is quite literally doing my head in. Plenty of rash tonight. I'm not giving up or changing focus until I get it dialed. The thing is I can do it, I'm making stupid mistakes. My latest being for some reason I got more obsessed than I've ever been with catching the baby. I've been 2 steps forwards 3 steps back the whole time with this razor. I love it and when all goes right it's hard to rival. I just don't understand my failure to tame it. Oh well I will continue. I'm giving it until the 15th February. Which coincidently is the date I will get a big haul including a new razor so I will switch it up then.

  18. No, and no. Straight razors require a very thin and fine edge nothing like tools or knives. The stones that I finish with for tools and knives are where I start honing with for straights. The edge profile is very different, and the level of polish has a huge impact on the shave. Power tools will likely heat the thin edge up enough to ruin the temper of the steel.
