Third day of cheapskate shaves. Razor: Gillette Tech Blade: Personna blue (3) Oil: Secret Shave After Shave: Gillette gel Same routine as the first 2, one of the best shaves in a long time, near BBS. 3rd time on that edge, just as smooth as 1st. That little tech is so nice! Bill
I like it more than the older version which I still have. It's in my regular rotation and I definitely like it.
Thank you for posting that song I've forgotten just how great JC was and really enjoyed the listen. You're the best R!
Thursday's Dove Men Face Wash Razorock Classic Shaving Soap Jayaruh #40 Black Badger AutoStrop VB1 Feather Stainless SE CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue The Razorock Classic Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #40 Black Badger brush. Two passes with my Valet AutoStrop razor and a Feather Stainless SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
SHAVE OF the day Prep: gustafsons woodlands Razor: 1940's Superspeed Blade: Derby (3rd shave) Brush: Ever ready Badger-lon Soap: RazoRock Mudder Focker Aftershave: Barbasol Brisk Balm: Soap Commander Resolution 3 pass shave today. This Superspeed is one i found recently at antique shop. The Derby blades have not been as bad as I expected. The MF made a nice lather and has a unusual scent. I shaved a part of my goatee that hasn't been shaved in a while, so decided to use SC Balm since the skin was not used to that. Hope everyone had a great shave!
@SHAVEWIZARD420 the RR MF is described as a cocoa scent by some reviewers but to me it smells like some type of coffee bean but in a pleasant way. Nice moisturizing effect from it.
SOTD January 28, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Astra SP (5) Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic Lather: Proraso White Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice, efficient CCS this morning. One pass with touch-up is all I needed. Hope you all have a great Thursday!
it is for the most UN scented, or should say it's not perfumed. it does have menthol that smells a little bit. it is a good cream, and what little smell it leaves is a neutral base for whatever aftershave you use. sorry for the late reply
January 27 Razor: Gillette 1958 Executive adjustable Blade: Feather Brush: Stirling Kong Soap: Proraso Red Post: Cold water rinse, Witch Hazel, Fine American Blend Today was my first shave ever with the feather blade. Figured I would give it a go. Good close shave with the feather today. Not the smoothest blade but definitely sharp! Hoping after a day's shave that it will be smoother for day two.
Thursday morning will be cool, but not too cold in my bathroom: Stirling Pre-Shave Soap Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Astra day 4 Proraso White SS Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer Italian Barber Amici AS The Proraso White soap is amazing - a great scent, lots of easy-to-create, rich lather and a pleasant, albeit mild cooling sensation. I always loved this soap because it's also perfect for sensitive skin like mine. The Lubriderm moisturizer also makes a very good aftershave balm because it's so soothing and protective. The Amici aftershave which is put out by Italian Barber smells super-nice and cools mildly with a really comfortable feeling - wonderful, wonderful stuff! (Oh, Rod's pre-shave soap is wonderful also - how can I forget it?)
Love the perspective of the photo. Will have to try the cryogen at some point. I love menthol and it should like it has some!
